MY MIDNIGHT RANT…NOT SURE IF YOU WILL UNDERSTAND MY POINT
One of my many pet peeves is being lied on. A lie to me feels like someone has suffocated me, stolen the very essence of me, making me feel helpless because sometimes there is no way out of a lie . Yet, more and more I have found that in today’s society, lies are the norm, we have to lie about how we feel, what we like, lie about the things we do, we almost have to lie about everything. It has become the only way to live.
Today, we have so many answers yet we have not quite solved life’s puzzle and seemingly never will. It’s almost like having an answer for a math problem but not knowing how to apply it or how you arrived at it , inevitably the problem will remain unsolved. Having the answer only tells us where it ends but not how we get to the end. The end which is the ultimate , the middle the obvious climax and it is where the application of the solution comes in.
We begin life , grow and it is in the climax of our life that we begin to see the choices that we have to make for our lives to go in a certain direction .After which we seek the solution to our individual lives because the end we know already , how we get there remains a mystery . Assuredly we know there is an end, almost like an answer , but the the question we seem not to realize that it remains open or unsolved.
Naturally we to make our lives easier, not wanting anymore to find solutions, but to live only because we will die. No matter what choices are made we know our end.
Life is a series of doors, beginning at birth when the first door is opened and we spend the rest of our lives opening and closing the others. Babies choose when to walk, talk and as we get older we choose the direction of our lives. We never stop making choices , to give them up means that we have ceased to live or to exist, death has chosen us spiritually and ultimately physically.
Whenever the subject of homosexuality comes up , we tend to shake inside almost every time , especially those of us who have loved ones who have chosen homosexuality as their life’s path. Saying how we really feel means that we are choosing God, life and belief over our loved ones. For some, these may be their own children for others it may be their close family. Nevertheless , that individual has to make a choice fitting enough for them to live with. An answer again, without a solution because at the end of it all there is no way around no loving that individual and this we know but decidedly have to choose :- the wide road instead of the narrow path, the short fence that leads to the okay house or the 15ft fence that leads to the mansion.
Homosexuality is a sin of the spirit although it’s route to the spirit is through the body. The bible describes it no less than an abomination. Meaning, it is detested and abhorred by The Most High God. It is intensely disliked by God. Maybe because it goes against what we were created for.
To some, God must be a very high energy being, waiting with open arms, whether those arms hold a knife or whether they are encased in blood they expect that his arms should always be out regardless of the choices that are made. Many of us expect God to be what we want Him to be forgetting that he has expectations of us, yet we tend delegate what He should be. This is nothing short of blaspheming.
For mothers, it may be easier to see the picture I am about to paint :- a baby telling us how to mother them, a baby who is incapable of understanding the world , a world that we have been in many years before they have come. A baby delegating our duties and what we should be to them. To The Almighty we will always be babies with no knowledge of the world , or the secrets that it may hold. We were after all, created after it was made and after existing for thousands of years, humanity is still unable to solve the mystery of the universe. But we have pocketed and delegated God’s duties, his being, purpose and question his existence and have no knowledge of why we continue to exist. If we exist because of the universe, then the universe itself must be very generous , setting aside our limited knowledge of it.
Gradually, the world is changing and the freedom we seem to think we have we are not happier than those whom we thought had none. Obligations and responsibility have gone through the door because this new world doesn’t need them. Funny enough we are no better than those who were responsible and obligated. We have been fooled into thinking we have gone fifty steps ahead, but in reality we are a million steps back. Sex education in schools, contraceptives on the shelves and teenagers are getting pregnant now more than ever, we have std’s that we can’t cure and more dysfunction exists than ever before. There is science and more science , the answer but never the solution.
Homosexuality came swinging in and it is easier to accept than to reject, why?Because everyone is afraid to choose. It is easier to give into our weakness, than to turn it into strength, easier to say the bible’s translation is warped because it would mean a choice doesn’t have to be made. Lets stop for a minute and process the ”Bible’s mistake”. In both the Old and New Testament it is mentioned that it is a sin to carry out the act of homosexuality, more than five times. Now, with the bible being a book hundreds of years old, it would seem as if the person who translated it was homophobic and sought to make an example out of homosexuality and defy God’s word by translating it into the opposite. Homosexuality that admittedly has been behind closed doors for years . That in itself is saying the bible is an abominable book. But why is homosexuality the only thing that has been taken out of context in the bible? The bible mentions drunkards, adulterers , fornicators and many other things but why is the condemnation of homosexuality the only repeated mistake the bible has?
It is hilarious to think that something repeated throughout a book was a mere misunderstanding. In reality, it is the intolerance of what was written , yet heterosexuals are expected to have tolerance because of a homosexuals obvious intolerance. They have ran away from making a choice, accepted the outcome but have inevitably forced us to choose, choices we shouldn’t think of making.
