Ms. Sender, mi sorry fi hear you’re also a victim, but the only thing you can do at this point is to focus on your health & just don’t let this consume you. Also, you need to be responsible & inform anyone you have sex with that you are infected so u don’t pass it on either….

  • Sammy Sam says:

Morning Met & Metters! Wow this is truly sad and disturbing. This why ppl shouldn’t just judge and bash ppl like that. Look another young lady got std from this dutty flea. • fashiondoll says:

Good morning. I wish the sender all the best. People we got to remember that one deals with shocking news differently. I was so hurt when some bloggers went in hard on the other sender. Wjo make us judge and juror? S ome of us are jus damn lucky we never ketch all kind of std when we start f— and even now some still changing man like dem draws. How many people use a condom every time? . Even in a committed relationship, shit can reach us so lets be aware. Unless we all getting tested ever so often, only those that pra tice celibacy are really safe.

  • Just Saying says:

Sender If you feel he is spreading this knowingly, maybe you should look into contacting CDC instead of other victims.

  • fashiondoll says:

  • Cindy Royal says:

Finding him won’t change your diagnosis hon, so again I say, as an anti-closure person myself, you don’t need to find him, u don’t need him to say sorry or explain anything to u, u really don’t need him to provide u with any closure. It may hurt like hell, but it is what it is. What may help u tho is trying to get ur overall health in order, cuz while herpes is incurable, a good strong immune system does help ur body deal with any kind of virus/illness better.

  • LUNDUN says:

i don’t see a problem with the sender wanting to find shane. we are all different and we all deal with situations differently. the sender yesterday wanted to report this nigga, the sender today may want to find him so she can report him as well.

herpes is not sumthing u can really protect urself from, so we are all at risk of getting it. some ppl have it an don’t know until they have flare ups.

i was reading up on it, and came across an article, that said u can’t test for herpes until u have a flare up, so that the sores can be tested. so thats my reason why i’m a bit iffy about this senders story. she didn’t say she had a flare up then went in to see what it was. she said she saw the sender from yesterday’s story then went to get tested.

can u get tested for herpes without having a flare up?

  • Met says:

    lundun :maho

But why does this Sender want to speak with the previous Sender? No Met doah mek this Sender get no info to contact previous Sender. Fishy.

met tell mi plz cuz mi no want a chat foolishness.

mi no know if di article wrong, but mi did believe weh it seh, so mi juss want conformation seh a so it go, or not. :nerd

  • Brightlight says:

@Lundun exactly. I’ve had medical training when I was once considering becoming a nurse. Unless you have a flare up there is no way to find out if someone has genital herpes.

  • Met says:

Lundun mi nuh sure but it would make sense and i still neva get di link fi write bout it…

  • LUNDUN says:

thanks brightie, cuz mi juss neva want a judge the situation wrong.

sender is either not telling the full story, or she not being truthful.

  • 187 Dem says:

    @Lundun good reasoning & great points…. :2thumbup

Mi nuh see di reason fi nubady a bash di sender dem wid a situation like dis, bcuz it cyan happen anybody… Committed relationship, married, careless f— as long as yuh a f— it cyan reach yuh… As Met did say even wid a condom on & sometimes smady nuh know dem have it until afta di fact

  • Cindy Royal says:

Yes Lundun, u can test for herpes without a flare up. The test can be done via the blood, however, if there’s a flare up the test can be done by a swab of the lesion. As u said, it’s pointless for anyone to judge any1 who has an std/sti, cuz unless no one has ever kissed you, and unless you’ve never had sex, it is possible that you’ve picked up a herpes virus. To be perfectly honest, is a former prostitute told me what herpes is when I was a young teen, cuz I always saw ppl with the cold sores & didn’t know. Not my mom, aunties or any1 close related to me, but a former prostitute. My point is, u can be living a perfectly honest love life & end up with ANY kind of std/sti.

Goodmorning all; hsv2=genital herpes; hsv1=oral herpes.
Usually there is a small pimple that presents itself around the genitalia;squamous (skin cells) are then tested for the herpes simplex. There is a cream used for genital herpes. The regular ‘cold sore” on someones lip, is HSV1, herpes simplex virus. I might have the numeric portion wrong, but if u google, HSV, the info will come up. :thumbup

  • Cindy Royal says:

Yeah, London, I was wondering what the numbers on the sender’s results mean. I’ll check it out later.

  • LadyWoW says:

Senda mi nuh see why u want go dig up dis old sore. u cyan a try move bak – move forward – weh u wan di people dem info fah. nuh badda wid dat. mi nuh ovastand di motive

  • Coldworld says:

If anyone “google” or have conversations with their dr for regular screens. The DR and also many medical sites will say “HERPES” cannot be tested UNLESS there is a sore, then they will swab the sore. BLOOD TESTS doesn’t prove it, it shows that you may have contracted it, but it’s inconclusive without actually swabbing a sore. A sore is the main way to find out, some of those tests shows (HI levels) of the virus being present, then you get tested 6months again and most cases show up with (LOW LEVELS) of being exposed. So without the actual “flare up” the blood test can’t really prove an individual has herpes, protection doesn’t always save either, even from kissing, a sore can be inside their mouth , and once that fluid filled sore gets in contact through kissing then there’s a possibility you will get it; abstinence is the only assurance!

Morning Met n Metters! Sender y u want to talk to the girl? Maybe u suspect who she is and want to scandal her? Or maybe u want to see who ur matie is/was? Mi not saying u lying, but mi kinda skeptical bout ur story. Majority of the time finding out you have an incurable STD is devastating and leaves one in a state of depression, denial and disbelieve. I get the impression that ur more interested in finding out who the next girl is than the actual contracting of the virus

  • Anonymous says:

Herpes tests are done to find the herpes simplex virus (HSV). An HSV infection can cause small, painful sores that look like blisters on the skin or the tissue lining (mucous membranes) of the throat, nose, mouth, urethra, rectum, and vagina. A herpes infection may cause only a single outbreak of sores, but in many cases the person will have more outbreaks.

There are two types of HSV.

HSV type 1 causes cold sores (also called fever blisters) on the lips. HSV-1 is generally spread by kissing or by sharing eating utensils (such as spoons or forks) when sores are present. HSV-1 can also cause sores around the genitals.
HSV type 2 causes sores in the genital area (genital herpes), such as on or around the vagina or penis. HSV-2 also causes the herpes infection seen in babies who are delivered vaginally in women who have genital herpes. HSV-2 is generally spread by sexual contact. HSV-2 can sometimes cause mouth sores.
In rare cases, HSV can infect other parts of the body, such as the eyes and the brain.

Tests for HSV are most often done only for sores in the genital area. The test may also be done using other types of samples, such as spinal fluid, blood, urine, or tears. To see whether sores are caused by HSV, different types of tests may be done.

Herpes viral culture. Cells or fluid from a fresh sore are collected with a cotton swab and placed in a culture cup. A viral culture is the best method of identifying a genital herpes infection. But the culture often fails to find the virus even when it is present (false-negative results).
Herpes virus antigen detection test. Cells from a fresh sore are scraped off and then smeared onto a microscope slide. This test finds markers (called antigens) on the surface of cells infected with the herpes virus. This test may be done with or in place of a viral culture.
Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test. A PCR test can be done on cells or fluid from a sore or on blood or on other fluid, such as spinal fluid. PCR finds the genetic material (DNA) of the HSV virus. This test can tell the difference between HSV-1 and HSV-2. The PCR test is not often done on skin sores, but it is best for testing spinal fluid, for those rare cases in which herpes may cause an infection in or around the brain.
Antibody tests. Blood tests can find antibodies that are made by the immune system to fight a herpes infection. Antibody tests are sometimes done but are not as accurate as a viral culture at finding the cause of a specific sore or ulcer. Antibody tests cannot tell the difference between a current active herpes infection and a herpes infection that occurred in the past. Because antibodies take time to develop after the first infection, you may not have a positive antibody test if you have just recently been infected. Some blood tests can tell the difference between HSV-1 and HSV-2.
It is thought that about half of adults in the United States likely have herpes antibodies.

A herpes infection cannot be cured. After you become infected with HSV, the virus stays in the body for life. It “hides” in a certain type of nerve cell and causes more outbreaks of sores in some people. Recurring infections can be triggered by stress, fatigue, sunlight, or another infection, such as a cold or flu. Medicine can relieve symptoms and shorten the length of the outbreaks, but medicine cannot cure the infection.

A different herpes virus (called varicella zoster) causes chickenpox and shingles.

  • Chocolate says:

Further more sender u can’t be angry at the girl for not speaking out before. She has no obligation to you or anyone. You are responsible for yourself! You made the decision to have sexual relations with this man. Therefore, whatever the consequences are you and you alone will have to live with them. It’s not the end of the world. We all learn life’s lessons each day and hopefully we can use the knowledge to make better decisions throughout the course of our lives

From my understanding the senda seemed more interested in finding the other girl that the man who she allegedly got this disease from now this is pointless n a bit suspicious to me, now I can sympathize with her wanting to know where the man is but the other victim she dont need if she wants someone to trade stories I’m sure there are groups or such.

  • Anonymous says:

@ saucy Yes it well known that we should all use protection, however, please keep in mind/be aware that condoms cannot always protect against herpes and crabs, as the condom only covers the penis! So depending on where the persons herpes are even using condoms may not protect you, as with crabs the is also risk because they live in the pubic area and are therefore not covered by use of a condom!

  • smartie says:

sender talking to the girl won’t cure u,what u need to do is look for treatment & thank God it was not AIDS,take responsibility for your irresponsible action.

  • GENUINE says:

THIS QUESTION IS FOR DI SENDER,IF SOMEONE SEES YOU AND WANT TO DATE U WOULD U BE HONEST LET HIM KNOW UR SITUATION? MI NA SLEEP WITH NO MAN IF THEY CANNOT GIVE MI PROVE FROM THEIR DOCTOR THAT THEY R DISEASE FREE. CAUSE MI VERY SERIOUS WHEN IT COME ON TO MY HEALTH DENTAL HYGIENE MORE OVA MI NA RIDE NO BRUK COCKY WEH BRING U MORE STRESS THAN U CAN BARE.

  • Hotstepper...formerly peeper says:

Is there a test for genital herpes?
Yes. A doctor can take a sample from what appears to be a herpes sore and send it to a lab to be examined. You can also have a blood test. The blood test looks for antibodies to the virus that your immune system would have made when you were infected. HSV-2 almost always infects the genitals, so if antibodies to HSV-2 are detected in the blood, you probably have genital herpes.

A blood test that shows antibodies to HSV-1 means you could have genital or oral herpes. That’s because oral herpes, typically caused by HSV-1, can be spread to the genitals during oral sex.

This is per Webmd…so yes it is possible to get tested even if u dont have a flare up

  • Cindy Royal says:

Is the 8.0 & 3.2 I was wondering about London. What do they mean?

  • Hotstepper...formerly peeper says:

So let me share a story with you guys, I believe I shared it once before, but I have been married to my husband for 22 years now, been together for 30 (mi no old, mi did just bad), so about fall last year him come to me and tell me sey we affi talk…mi sey ok, mi did think him ago tell me sey him lose him job…well di drankro tell me sey some gal tell him sey him gi har std, and mi fi go get miself tested. I went and got tested and my test came back negative and his was positive…I am not naive but for all this time we were married, he never gave me any reason to believe he was having sex outside of our marriage. I was heart broken, because that mean is not one ooman is at LEAST 2, one him ketch it from, one him give it to. I was appreciative of him coming to me, and never tried to shift the blame that so many men will do…I told him he had until december to leave, because I was not going to allow him to bring me HIV the next time around…my point of telling this story is when you are with a partner you could do everything right and still end up with the shitty end of the stick, and wearing a condom does not protect you from Herpes.

  • Hotstepper...formerly peeper says:

    @Cindy Royal…@Cindy Royal…
Results can fall in three ranges. Anything less than 0.90 is considered negative. Results between 0.90 and 1.10 are considered “equivocal,” or inconclusive. Those above 1.10 are considered positive.

  • LUNDUN says:

    amen @hotstepper

i will never talk ill of anyone who catches a std, i have to know the situation first. cuz many ppl in what they think is a committed relationship, end up catching stds. its a sad state of affairs in this day and age, thats why i said it could happen to anyone of us.

  • EbonyLolita says:

Herpes is so common that Drs don’t even make it part of a checkup during /GYN visits. You have to SPECIFICALLY ask for it. If you are exposed to HSV2 then it will show up in your bloodwork. Like I said I learned the frightening way when someone I know told me they had it. Praise GOD mi get tested & I’m alright & I use condoms EVERYTIME! Doesn’t matter. Herpes 1 & Herpes 2 are SKIN TO SKIN contact diseases so if he/she touch themselves then touch you then it can be passed on. Especially during oral sex. It’s the luck of luck if you don’t catch it. SEVERAL of my friends has it. One tells men & the other doesn’t. So ppl don’t just ask GET TESTED! BTW Met mi wah pass on di bitter melon to mi two friends. How does it work to cure or deal w/the symptoms of HSV?

  • noontime says:

when I was pregnant the first clinic I went to there was a senior nurse giving a talk on the blood tests that we would be required to take. The woman start to talk about stds and mi fraid till mi nearly cry. The woman say married women are at a higher risk of being infected, even moreso than prostitutes. I will never ever forget that lecture . I’m married, we are trying to expand our family but I always wonder if you can really ever be without risks, when u and yuh husband going at it without condoms……suppose him a sling him business out dey too. sometimes if u really think bout it yuh nuh badda want have sex ever again

  • Cindy Royal says:

Thanks for educating me Hotstepper. :thumbup

One thing I know for sure tho is that I’ve seen couples, one of who have hsv 1 & they live pretty normal lives – married for yrs, having children etc. So I think being honest with ur partner from the get go is key. The person may or may not stay, but it’s just a chance someone with any kind of incurable virus/disease will have to take.

  • Toni Ann says:

    Evening Met, Evening Metters.

“A large percentage of of herpes infections are subclinical, so the initial episode may go unnoticed.” The signs and symptoms are systemic influenza symptoms, swollen glands, fever, headache, and painful urination may also be present’ (so most like if someone have herpes or hiv they may think its the flu).
“The condition is infectious when sores are present, but some people, called SHEDDERS, can transmit the virus without symptoms.” So its possible “Shane” dont even know he has it, by the way, WOMEN AND BLACKS are more susceptible to herpes virus, and herpes can lay dormant and hide in the nervous system for months or years.

    ^^^ This is all facts.

  • Toni Ann says:

And another thing, may or may not be lying, should could know before that she caught the virus from him and had the guts to come out now or request a test after she heard about the story…..

    Diagnosis:
“The presence of the characteristic lesions on the male or female genitalia is noted during physical examination. An antigen test or tissue culture laboratory techniques can identify the HSV-2 virus. Polymerase cain reaction and rapid fluorescent test are also used to identify HSV-2.” so there are tests, but most likely if you go to your personal doctor s/he may be looking for physical signs instead ordering tests.

And you dont have to have sex with someone to catch herpes, you can come in contact with the fluid, or one of these sores and dont know it and BAM! you got it.

Sender I agree with many up top, focus on you & healing you, be careful with the Valtrex or what ever they give you because it can also damage your liver. Also symptoms are often stress induced so try not to think about the past with this individual, think about your health etc…

Sender, are you going to keep buying him “all his shit” ? Yuh start taking it serious yet? And how has he responded to the news that you have Herpes and possibly got it from him? BTW, the tone of your submission does nothing to suggest that you and him are in a monagomous situation, so, the 24 blood test turnaround aside, how were you able to establish without a doubt the source of your infection. And its entirely possible that she got it after you, innit?

  • Anonymous says:

I agree with [email protected]:09 Plenty people have it and when they break out with cold sore they say Im sick. I got the flu or something else.. in a room of 10 people 3 of them have HSV1 or 2. I work in the field and many people do not think that it is a big deal. I have seen moms pass cold sores or fever blisters to their children by kissing them in the mouth. They think its nothing, but children suffer, because when they go to school, children pick on them. And you can get a blood test and it will determine your HSV status.
