THE NIGERIAN CONNECTION

HAPPY SUNDAY YALL

A security guard claimed that he had long suspected that his wife was cheating on him because she regularly passes gas (fart) producing noise in the process. Bernard (44) told the court that his youthful wife, Brenda 23 was in the habit of moaning loudly during intercourse.

The 44-year-old man’s suspicion was confirmed when he caught Brenda with his neighbor cheating. It was for that reason he was dragged into the dock where he was charged with physical abuse charges according to the Domestic Violence Act.

Bernard came clean and pleaded guilty before magistrate ,moments later, Bernard begged for a chance to explain why he bashed his wife.

“My wife is in the habit of moaning unnecessarily and I used to wonder why. On 11 April, I was supposed to be working overnight but my boss told me to go back home,” that was how I caught my wife with my neighbor.

Another day, He said he was shocked when he arrived home around midnight and his wife was nowhere to be found. It was later revealed that the doors were wide open but Brenda was nowhere in the vicinity.

“I waited until 1am and I opted to look for her. I was afraid that she might have been harmed. Efforts to call her friends and relatives proved futile and she was still unavailable,” he added.

Bernard became suspicious and he went to sit in the toilet waiting for Brenda’s arrival. At around 4am, Brenda came out of their neighbor’s bedroom wearing a t-shirt only. He (Bernard) could not believe his eyes. Bernard became furious and he severely clobbered Brenda.

It seemed as if it was not enough, Bernard also used a rope to tie Brenda’s legs and hands. He also stormed his neighbor’s bedroom before walloping him with a wooden stick. The neighbor escaped and took his heels to avoid further harm. On the other hand, Brenda sustained facial and elbow bruises, She also complained of chest pains.

In court, Brenda confessed that she was cheating with her neighbor. She further told the court that she had no feelings for her husband as he was too old for her.

Hope for St Ann family
Progress being made in construction of new home
BY CONRAD HAMILTON Sunday Observer senior reporter [email protected]

ONE month after the Sunday Observer highlighted the plight of an impoverished family living in a rundown shack in Stepney, St Ann, one of the agencies involved in assisting them to build a home, has indicated significant progress is being made.
During a tour of the community in mid-March, representatives of three state entities who had gone to the crumbling mud and stone house to assess living conditions were brought to tears as they observed the how Jonah Johnson, his common-law wife, Hyacinth Lewis and their five children were living.

Days after the publication of the article, the Child Development Agency (CDA) intervened and removed the children to two government-run children’s homes. The agency declared that the living conditions were unsuitable for the children, and told the parents that their offspring would only be returned after the rehabilitation of the house. It’s understood that since then, the CDA has arranged for the parents to visit the children.
Richardo Aiken, the parish manager for the Social Development Commission — one of the entities involved in the effort — told the Jamaica Observer that relief agency, Food For the Poor has committed to constructing a house on the property now occupied by Johnson. However, he said construction of the building was awaiting the payment of back taxes and written approval from the owners of the land, who are said to be relatives of Johnson.
Aiken has since disclosed that the back taxes were paid by a good Samaritan from Kingston. He added that the Government, through the Programme of Advancement Through Health and Education will be adding a bathroom and a kitchen to the structure.
Aiken says the state agencies, Food For the Poor, Member of Parliament, Keith Walford, and community representatives are optimistic that the house will be completed by Labour Day, May 23, and the family brought back together.

JESUS WAS OUR EXAMPLE- GOODMORNING

Jesus… Son of Man – He was our example!

Home > Jesus… Son of Man – He was our example!
Satan wants us to see Jesus’ life here on earth as a far-fetched lifestyle that we could never come into today. He wants you to see Jesus’ life here on earth as 100% God and had no man. However, scripture is clear that Jesus was God (the Word) and He took on the nature of man (flesh):

John 1:1,14, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God… And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us…”

It is true that Jesus was God’s son, but it’s also true that He was living a man’s life down here on earth. In Hebrews 2:9, God’s Word tells us that Jesus was made a little lower than the angels while He was here on earth:

“But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels…”

Jesus was our example

If I asked you the reason Jesus went about healing all who were oppressed of the devil, what would you say? Would you say, “He did those things because He was the son of God!”? Would you be shocked if I said you were wrong? Let’s take a look at Acts 10:38, where it tells us how Jesus went about doing these good things:

“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”

If Jesus could go about healing all who were oppressed of the devil, because He was anointed with the Holy Ghost, then we today should be able to go about doing the same things!

Many don’t believe that we can do the things that Jesus did, because He was the Son of God, but the Word of God tells us differently:

John 14:12, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.”

The weaknesses He experienced here on earth

Jesus wasn’t born as wise as He could be. Jesus didn’t know everything the moment He came out of the womb. Did you know that there was actually a time when Jesus Himself was growing in wisdom?

Luke 2:52, “And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature…”

Contrary to what many may believe, there were even things that Jesus did not know while He was here on earth either:

Mark 13:32, “But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.”

Scripture is even clear that the Father would speak to the Son and show Him things. If the Son already knew these things, then He would not be claiming in the below scripture that the Father hath shown Him:

John 15:15, “Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.”

This makes it so evident that the Father and the Son are two distinct persons in the Godhead!

I believe Lester Sumrall once said that Jesus was even manifesting some of the gifts of the Spirit while here on earth, including the discerning of spirits and the word of knowledge. Different times, Jesus would know the names of demon spirits when casting them out:

Mark 9:25, “When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.”

But another time when Jesus was confronting a demonic spirit, He asked the demon for it’s name:

Mark 5:9, “And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.”

Why would Jesus ask the demon for it’s name, if He already knew? It doesn’t make sense. I believe it is very helpful at times to ask demons for their names. It gives us an idea of what their function is, how they got there, and what other demons may be residing in the person.

Jesus also had weaknesses, and the man part of Him was asking the Father to allow His death on the cross to pass over Him:

Matthew 26:39, “And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.”

Why was He the son of man? He was our example!

God’s Word is clear that Jesus was our example, and our lives here on earth are to be conformed to His image and likeness:

Romans 8:29, “For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.”

Jesus wants us to be going about doing the same things that He Himself was here on earth doing. He was our example! He was healing the sick, so He sent us fourth to heal the sick. He was casting out demons, so He sent us fourth to cast out demons!

Mark 16:17-18, “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”
