Brooks, who was born in Kingston, Jamaica, was a flute and sax player who fostered a love of music from an early age. Playing clarinet at the Alpha Boys School led to Brooks picking up other instruments, and by the time he was in his 20′s, he was playing onstage with bands like The Vagabonds and the Granville Williams Band. In the ’60s he found commercial success after partnering up with trumpeter David Madden, and by the 1970′s he was working as a studio musician and releasing his own singles.

Brooks worked with several influential musicians of the day and eventually teamed up with drummer Count Ossie for many projects before heading out on his own again. He would later settle in the ska band the Skatalites.

Brooks suffered a heart attack in 2010 that left him almost incapacitated; he also lived with diabetes and high blood pressure. His sister, Paulette Keise, said he passed away on Friday at New York Hospital Queens.

The incident happened on Monday evening when the woman got home from her vending stall in the business centre.

It is said that the woman only identified as Patience Nleya got home around 6:30 pm but shortly bolted out of the house screaming, “help! help!”

A source who witnessed the incident said it was an embarrassing moment for most women as they watched helplessly Nleya gyrating to an invisible man.

“She was running towards the business centre demanding help but it looks like whatever was chasing her caught up with her before she went far. We could hear her saying I don’t want to sleep with you. Please leave me alone,” the source said.

Women are said to have approached nearby houses asking for a wrapping cloth but it seemed people were afraid to lend any help.

Contacted for comment, Patience confirmed being tormented by the goblin.

“I do not know peace since the passing on of my grandmother. She never told me she was a dealer in the under-world and I do not how she used to treat the goblin,” she said.

Patience said trouble started barely a week after the burial of her grandmother and the goblin claims to have been left in her custody.

“All this started when a number of people were still around. It was four days after the burial and we heard a voice coming from the bedroom demanding food.

“While we were surprised, the voice ordered everyone out. We have agreed as a family to seek help from anyone with powers,” she said.

Internet Installer Sentenced for Hijacking Customer’s Internet to Perpetrate Identity Theft Tax Scheme
Corey Thompson was sentenced today to serve 30 months in prison for his involvement in a sophisticated stolen identity refund fraud conspiracy, the Justice Department and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) announced. In July 2012, Thompson pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to file false claims and to one count of aggravated identity theft.

According to court documents, in January 2012, Corey Thompson and his co-conspirators filed at least 27 fraudulent 2011 tax returns that requested a total of $91,304 in refunds. Thompson and his co-conspirators obtained the means of identification from a prison guard and from an employee at a debt collection agency.

Court documents also state that in 2011 and 2012, Thompson worked as an independent contractor for a cable company. As an independent contractor, Thompson installed cable and internet access. To perpetrate the conspiracy, Thompson hijacked the internet service of customers for whom he had performed work. From his home, Thompson used his laptop and his specialized knowledge and equipment to essentially shut down the customer’s internet and then take over that customer’s internet. Thompson would then file false tax returns using the hijacked internet which made it appear as if the false tax returns were being filed by the customer. Thompson directed the tax refunds to be placed on pre-paid debit cards. The pre-paid debit cards were intercepted by the U.S. Postal Service.

The case was investigated by Special Agents of the IRS – Criminal Investigation and Postal Inspectors of the U.S. Postal Service. Trial attorneys Jason H. Poole, Justin Gelfand and Michael Boteler of the Justice Department’s Tax Division and Assistant U.S. Attorney Jared Morris prosecuted the case.
