Jenna Wolfe Baby: ‘Today’ Host Keeping Paternity Under Wraps

“Today” co-host Jenna Wolfe said she was keeping the paternity of her baby private in an interview with E! News on Wednesday.

Wolfe came out as gay on Wednesday’s “Today” show, announcing that she’s been in a three year relationship with NBC News correspondent Stephanie Gosk and they were expecting a baby.

Wolfe opened up about her and Stephanie’s decision to have a baby, but would not reveal the identity of the father, jokingly confirming that it is neither Matt Lauer or Lester Holt.

When asked how she and her partner decided who would carry the baby, Wolfe pointed to a very simple solution. “We rock-paper-scissored it,” she said. “I won 34-31.”

Wolfe previously co-hosted Sunday’s “Today” show alongside Holt but was demoted to the weekend show’s newsreader when NBC News hired former “CBS This Morning” co-host Erica Hill to co-anchor on both Saturdays and Sundays.

Georgia Husband and Wife Tax Return Preparers Indicted for Tax Crimes
On March 14, 2013, a federal grand jury in Macon, Ga., returned an 18 count indictment alleging that Natashia and Detrick Tucker, a husband and wife couple who owned and operated a tax preparation business named T&T Express located in Pine Mountain, Ga., conspired to defraud the United States by preparing and filing fraudulent tax returns that illegally claimed inflated tax refunds for their clients. The indictment also charges both of the Tuckers with specific counts of aiding the filing of false tax returns, including Natashia Tucker’s personal returns. The Tuckers were arrested and made their initial appearances in court today.

An indictment is merely a formal charge by the grand jury. The defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. If convicted of the conspiracy charge, Natashia and Detrick Tucker each face a maximum potential sentence of ten years’ imprisonment. Further, they face maximum of three years in prison for each count of conviction for aiding the filing of false tax returns.

The case is being prosecuted by Trial Attorneys Alexander Effendi and Charles Edgar Jr. of the Justice Department’s Tax Division and Michael Solis of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Georgia. The case was investigated with the assistance of special agents of IRS-Criminal Investigation and the Georgia Department of Revenue.

HIV test urged for 7,000 Oklahoma dental patients

TULSA, Oklahoma (AP) — Health officials are urging 7,000 patients of an Oklahoma dentist to seek medical tests to ensure they haven’t been exposed to hepatitis or the virus that causes AIDS.

The Oklahoma and Tulsa health departments said Thursday that the patients may have been exposed to viruses at clinics operated by Dr W Scott Harrington. The agencies said they found “major violations” of the Oklahoma Dental Act.

Spokeswoman Kaitlin Snider of the Tulsa Health Department says Harrington voluntarily closed his practice and is cooperating with investigators.

Letters are being sent to 7,000 patients from Harrington’s clinics in Tulsa and suburban Owasso since 2007. The letters recommend testing for hepatitis B, hepatitis C and HIV. The agencies say it is rare for infections to spread in occupational settings but that tests are important.

A Japanese man who allegedly tried to kill a woman he was stalking by putting poison in her shoes was arrested Thursday, police and reports said.

The woman, a colleague, did not die, but developed gangrene in part of her left foot, they said. It was not known to what extent she was injured or if she had to have any amputations.

Tatsujiro Fukasawa, 40, allegedly put hydrofluoric acid, a highly caustic chemical, in her shoes in December last year, a police spokeswoman and reports said.

He is believed to have obtained the chemical, which is used in oil refining or to dissolve rock, at his workplace.

Fukusawa has denied the allegation, Jiji Press said, citing local investigative sources.

Hydrofluoric acid can be absorbed through the skin into the blood, and can led to systemic failure, including heart attacks.
