NEW YORK, USA:
The highly-anticipated sentencing of Jamaican crime lord Christopher ‘Dudus’ Coke, has been put off until after an evidentiary hearing which has been scheduled to begin on May 22.
Dudus was expected to be sentenced this afternoon on racketeering charges.
When the matter was called up in the United States Southern District Court of New York, Judge Robert Patterson said he had received a recommendation from the Prosecution for a 23-year prison sentence.
However, the Judge said he also got a letter from the defence dated March 12, saying the proposed sentence was too harsh.
In court this afternoon, the prosecution maintained that it had sufficient evidence to support the recommended sentence.
The defence then indicated that it wanted to see the evidence and after a brief consultation, the parties agreed that May 22 was suitable for the beginning of evidentiary hearing.
The hearing will last for a few days and then the judge will impose the sentence.
Last September Coke pleaded guilty to the racketeering charges.

STRESS IN BOSTON
After two and a half years of operating the FCC has closed down the radio station we know as Hot97 Boston . Operating on the 87.7 dial and not on 97fm, Hot 97 Boston was said to have been cutting into the revenue of many mainstream and legit radio stations . Backed by Christy Barber who constantly tweeted about the radio station and also endorsed by many dancehall artist, promoters, managers and publicists who looked forward to promoting their music on the unknowingly illegitimate radio station, the competition may have been a bit too much for even the real Hot97 itself.
It is said that when the FCC pulled into the studio yesterday, they were greeted by interns and Paul ‘Genius’Perreria who was said to have outwitted the FCC and left the station hastily and left interns and other staff members to face the heat alone. Also said is that the FCC is looking to make arrests as the station copied mechanisms and mannerisms of the famous radio station Hot97 New York and pretended to operate legitimately.
Astonishingly ,the station received rave reviews in Jamaica , especially in December when the V.O.G aka Voice of Genius consisting of Genius and Jukanya Kool, both disk jockeys of the station, promoted the station on one of Jamaica’s popular television programs On Stage . The radio station was also promoted on sting where they were said to be DJ’s that supported Jamaican artist Windel ‘Gyptian’ Beneto Edwards and gave out Hot97 Boston t-shirts.
Many believed that the station was legitimately operated , station owner ‘’Mikey’’ was said to have good connections as he was Jay-Z’s DJ for many years and may have been the reason why the station popularized as fast as it did.
