Old Harbour cops, civilian in stable condition

ST CATHERINE, Jamaica – The two policemen and a civilian who were shot and injured in an incident in Old Harbour, St Catherine yesterday are listed as stable.
One policeman was grazed in the neck, while the other was grazed at the side of the head and shot in the back. The civilian was reportedly shot three times in the upper body, none of the wounds are considered to be life threatening.

Police report that two teams went into a community close to Old Harbour Bay yesterday after reports emerged that a quantity of cocaine had floated up at the bay. Both teams were conducting surveillance operations when shooting broke out.
When the smoke cleared two cops and a civilian were found to be suffering from gunshot wounds.
Officers from the Major Investigations Taskforce are investigating the incident.
The cocaine has not been recovered.
