WTF AFRICA- A DOE BELIEVE
In an extraordinary case, a Bulawayo man was left mesmerised after a court ordered him to buy lipstick, cutex and face powder for his two-year-old son!
The man, Pedzisai Guku, had been dragged to Hwange maintenance court by his ex-wife Ayinesi Lungu.
However, it is widely believed that the lipstick, face powder and cutex would be used by the woman.
Guku and the woman reportedly severed ties after the birth of the child at the centre of the controversy.
After the divorce, Lungu dragged Guku to the maintenance court and the man was ordered to pay US$20 monthly towards the upkeep of their son.
However, in June this year, the woman approached the courts again seeking an upward review. Her wishes were granted and Guku was told to folk out US$35 per month.
The world came crushing down on the man on Thursday last week after his ex-wife had more demands.
Among the items that Guku was ordered to buy monthly were lipstick, cutex, hair weave, face powder, lotion and foodstuff.
What has compounded the man’s woes is that the required monthly allowance has shot up to US$125, as a result of his son’s ‘female-like’ needs.
