– Residents of South Nyanza have shifted their faith from authorities to witchcraft.
They said that the witches and wizards are more reliable in solving their problems than the authorities assigned in the area.
A case in reference is when a bar owner was robbed off sh 380,000 and reported the case to police but blamed them of laxity in making arrests of the culprit.
She later visited a witchdoctor who gave her a portion which was then given to the suspects. The main suspect Kennedy Odhiambo is said to have died on the way to hospital after taking the portion, the other suspects were hospitalized.
In Trans-Nzoia a businessman was murdered last week and a cash amount of sh 30,000 was violently robbed from him. The gang of robbers is said to have also hurt other members of the family in the incident.
The residents consulted a witchdoctor who performed a ritual to capture the gang.
Four men were later found in Waumini village by the public eating grass after the ritual was performed.
