Alavasha McKoy, 33 a Jamaican, was sentenced to six months in jail for stealing twenty six bottles of alcohol seven of which were Vodka . The items were taken from PriceSmart in La Romaine, Trinidad. The alcohol valued over five thousand dollars.

Ms McKoy, after being in Trinidad for four months has had her second run in with the law. On October 3, 2011, she was ordered to pay $2000.00 or face three months in prison for stealing milk products. The Judge, Magistrate Chankar, told McKoy that her plan to come from Woodbrook was to steal and was said to also have said “You came to our country, we allowed you in our country and this what you did?”. Ms McKoy told the court that she was blackmailed into stealing. The alcohol was ordered returned to PriceSmart and Ms McKoy, sentenced to six months , hard labor
Brielle Latoi Orridge was held on December 18,2011, in a Houston airport. Brielle , only 19 years old was held in possession of three pounds of cocaine which was said to be found in her shoes. Her flight originated from Montego Bay Jamaica, and her final destination would have been Bronx, New York. The cocaine is said to carry , with conviction, up to forty years. The drug was said to have been sniffed out by dogs at the airport, when searched , the cocaine was said to have been in two pairs of Brielle’s shoes.
