Police search for 19 year old implicated in his father’s killing

A 28-year old taxi operator is in police custody, while his 19-year old accomplice is being sought in connection with the death of a man from the community of Central Village in St. Catherine.

The killing happened at the start of the weekend.

The dead man is unidentified but the police say he is the father of the 19-year old man who is on the run.

RJR News has learnt that about 3:00 on Friday afternoon, an argument developed between the father and son.

It is reported that the argument, which took place in their house, was in relation to the son’s 14-year old girlfriend.

The son reportedly told his father that he had impregnated the teen and was seeking permission to have her live with them.

However, his father objected to the request.

This was followed by an argument and a fight in which the father was reportedly severely beaten by his son and the taxi operator.

It is understood that residents of the community heard the commotion but did not intervene at that time.

However, later that same day, concerned residents went to the police station when they did not see the father emerge from the house.

The residents told the police that they saw the man’s son and the taxi operator at the house shortly before the commotion.

The taxi operator is not being named pending further investigations.

On Saturday, the police went in search of the taxi operator who is well known in the community.

He was questioned and reportedly confessed to the police that he and the son physically assaulted the father.

He reportedly took the police to a section of the Caymanas Bay road where the father’s body was found.

A search of the taxi operator’s car revealed blood stains.
