Good-day, Afternoon and Goodnight, Ms Kitty,

I am writing in response to your article dated, 12-10-09 , titled, ”Get A Life, Not pregnant. To ensure we are on the same page, I consulted the dictionary for a defined definition of ”Woman”. Which is as follows

noun 1.the female human being (distinguished from man ).

2.an adult female person.

3.a female attendant to a lady of rank.

4.a wife.

5.the nature, characteristics, or feelings often attributed to women; womanliness.

6.a sweetheart or paramour; mistress.

7.a female employee or representative: A woman from the real estate agency called.

8.a female person who cleans house, cooks, etc.; housekeeper: The woman will be in to clean today.

9.women collectively: Woman is no longer subordinate

I , being also a woman from the selected definitions, would like to chose for now, definition (1). Which states woman, as being a female human being. Ms Kitty your article not only disappointed me, but perplexed me to the point of anger. Anger stemming from the fact that we as female human beings, distinguished from males, are our own worst enemies. Ms Kitty you have no idea of the situations that led to some of the young girls /”hype man hoppers, getting pregnant. It is humorous how from a far you have made a pre-muture judgement on a nation of women, Ms Kitty in your eyes it may not appear so , but in your article, that’s what you have done. I will not dispute that there are not misguided young women in our nation, and I use the term misguided because, there are always situations or instances that lead to a certain behavior.

We as women sometimes forget that we were once knee high, and what we were like before we came into wisdom, what we must also understand is that while we have gotten wise, we must teach the unwise. Ms Kitty whether a woman intends to trap a man by getting pregnant however the means, the life that is brought fourth should be the main focus, because that child isn’t only that male or female’s future , it is our country’s future and in saying that I will repeat. It doesn’t matter how that life was created. The life is already upon the earth and preparations for its upbringing should be the main focus.

Ms Kitty you have stated that you are not a fan of the ”pity campaign ” of these hyped pretty girls with those lovely shapes but what you have forgotten is that,( if you are indeed a woman ) if these ”trapper women” indeed sneer a hyped man, that child should, by law be taken care of in a hyped way. There is no if, ands or buts around this. Sometime last week, Chino McGreggor announced that he has indeed fathered a child and was happy about it. No sign of remorse detected, why? Because he is indeed a man and is way beyond blaming the woman or the child’s conception.He has seen the bigger picture, there is a life that needs to be maintained and he is a father. You have said these young girls don’t even have a mattress, what is a mattress? Can it not be bought at any point in one’s life? What kind values are you influential people ”throwing out” into Jamaica’s hyped society? What words of encouragement are you sending them? I forgot that you are the same Ms Kitty who entourage’s fluffies to be confident, yes to be confident in being over-weight and unhealthy but I guess its hard to encourage the ‘hyped, pretty girls with the lovely shapes to be better women.
