Sources close to both parties in the Captain Barkey triangle paint a different picture than what has been said so far about Joseph Kernizan.
Friends say Kernizan affectionately called ”Country” is a gentle spirited soul and it is indeed shocking that he may have been driven to this. They say the business man was quiet and did everything for Tracy and his children which included taking care of an older child that was not his.And like any unsatisfied spouse Tracy made him miserable, but it is alleged that Kernizan footed all the bills and seemingly got nothing in return, that was what may have frustrated him. ”They had numerous arguments but the last thing I heard was that they were working it out”, someone said.One source says that ”Tracy was like a hurricane in his life, compared to Country who was cool calm and collective”. Kernizan appeared to be full of morals and very respectful. Tracy was the opposite and a month ago went to a salon owned by Kernizan and told the hairdresser to ”get the f- out”. The couple who frequently had problems often broke up and then worked things out.
On one occasion it is alleged that Tracy and Kernizan both had individual relationships, Kernizan, at the time who was seeing someone, complained about still being inlove with his wife Tracey . He eventually broke the relationship off to focus on his marriage.
”Tracy played him like a cat with its yarn” , sources say. Friends express shock and dismay at the shooter’s actions and went on to say that Benette may have been caught in a deceitful lie and Kernizan may have noticed something different and decided to follow her. ”He just wanted to catch her red handed, thats the only thing I can think of”. ” It has been going on for so long, I felt he thought he had to make this a priority and snapped, but this is a shock to us, he is as gentle as a lamb”.

Today was a very sad day at DSR as we learned that one of our most loyal foot soldiers – Tenneile Baxter – has passed away.
All of us here at DSR are shocked and deeply saddened by the news, and although we know DSR’s ultimate hustler is in a better place, we can’t help but wish the news was not just another one of his practical jokes.
Tenneile had been with DSR for over 7 years (though some of us know him longer than that). He was always on the front lines and was a fearless , creative and enthusiastic soul with a huge heart and a constant smile. He will be terribly missed by all of us at Downsound Records and he will remain forever in our hearts and conversations.
Rest in peace boss (and please keep the drinks cold till we see you again). – DSR Family.
