CHRISTOPHER DORNER ”MANHUNT”
A fugitive ex-Los Angeles cop sought in three killings was barricaded in a cabin in the San Bernardino Mountains on Tuesday after a shootout with authorities that wounded two officers.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department says two law enforcement officers are being airlifted to a local hospital with unknown injuries.
Deputies in the Big Bear area looking for Christopher Dorner responded to a report of a stolen vehicle in the area about 12:20 p.m., the sheriff’s office said.
The people whose vehicle was stolen described the suspect as looking very similar to Dorner.

The vehicle found and the suspect, believed to be Dorner, ran into the forest and barricaded himself inside a cabin. A short time later there was an exchange of gunfire between law enforcement and the suspect.
It’s not clear which agency the two agents wounded belong to, State Fish and Wildlife Assistant Chief Dan Sforza told KCAL.
It’s also believed Dorner committed a residential burglary of a cabin where a couple was tied up, an officer told The Associated Press.
The officer requested anonymity because the officer was not authorized to speak publicly about the ongoing investigation.
One of the people was able to get away and make a call.
The area is in the Big Bear region where a search for Dorner has been under way since his pickup truck was found there Thursday.
A KCAL-TV reporter in the Angelus Oaks area along Highway 38 reported gunfire in his vicinity.
The noise of the gunbattle was broadcast by the station, whose reporter suddenly found himself near the fight. Someone could be heard yelling at the reporter to get out of the area.
Road blocks were up around Big Bear.
The former Navy reservist began his run from the law on Feb. 6 after authorities connected the slayings of a former police captain’s daughter and her fiance with an angry manifesto they said Dorner posted on Facebook. He vowed to bring “warfare” to Los Angeles police and their family members, which led the department to assign officers to guard more than 50 families connected to his so-called targets.
Within hours of the release of photos of the 6-foot, 270-pounder described as armed and “extremely dangerous,” Dorner allegedly unsuccessfully tried to steal a boat in San Diego to flee to Mexico and then ambushed police in Riverside County, shooting three and killing one.
Jumpy officers guarding one of his targets in Torrance on Thursday shot and injured two women delivering newspapers because they mistook their pickup truck for Dorner’s.
The hunt for Dorner appeared to go cold after his burned-out pickup was found later that morning in the mountains east of Los Angeles and his footprints disappeared on frozen ground.
Police found charred weapons and camping gear inside the truck, but it wasn’t clear if he had fled into the San Bernardino Mountains near the resort town of Big Bear Lake or left the area.
Helicopters using heat-seeking technology searched the forest from above while scores of officers, some using bloodhounds, scoured the ground and checked hundreds of vacation cabins – many vacant this time of year – in the area. A snowstorm hindered the search and may have helped cover his tracks, though authorities were hopeful he would leave fresh footprints if hiding in the wilderness.
Dorner’s beef with the department dated back at least five years, when he was fired for filing a false report accusing his training officer of kicking a mentally ill suspect. Dorner, who is black, claimed in his manifesto that he was the subject of racism by the department and fired for doing the right thing.
He said he would get even with those who wronged him in an event to reclaim his good name.
“You’re going to see what a whistleblower can do when you take everything from him especially his NAME!!!” he wrote. “You have awoken a sleeping giant.”
Chief Charlie Beck, who initially dismissed the allegations in Dorner’s rant, said he would reopen the investigation into his firing – not to appease the ex-officer, but to restore confidence in the black community, which long had a fractured relationship with police that has improved in recent years.
One of the targets listed in the manifesto was former LAPD Capt. Randal Quan, who represented Dorner before the disciplinary board. Dorner claimed he put the interests of the department above his.
The first victims were Quan’s daughter, Monica Quan, 28, a college basketball coach, and her fiance, Keith Lawrence, 27, who were shot multiple times in their car in a parking garage near their condo.
Dorner served in the Navy, earning a rifle marksman ribbon and pistol expert medal. He was assigned to a naval undersea warfare unit and various aviation training units, according to military records. He took leave from the LAPD for a six-month deployment to Bahrain in 2006 and 2007

O.M.G NO SAH DIS REALLY BAD!! RAINSBERGER INFORMERS
Jamaican policemen have been listed in court documents as benefitting from US visas in the bribery case involving a United States State Department security officer, THE STAR understands.
Since news broke last week of a Jamaican musician and his manager’s involvement in a bribery case involving David J. Rainsberger, a State Department security officer, tongues have been wagging that a can of worms have apparently been opened as a result of his guilty plea.
According to court documents, “At various times in 2011, and while posted at the embassy, the defendant also influenced decisions to grant or deny US visas to other Jamaican musicians and local Jamaican law enforcement officers based on the recommendations of JJG, which at times included information about undisclosed criminal activity provided by JJG.”
The documents add that not only was the Jamaican musicians granted US visas, but the accused may have assisted, or helped to deny visa requests for other musicians.
Court documents add that in influencing these visas decisions, the defendant again failed to disclose to embassy officials the extent of his close and personal relationship with DB and JJG.
Thirty-two-year-old Rainsberger pleaded guilty last Wednesday in Federal Court in Alexandria to receiving unlawful gratuities while stationed at the US Embassy in Kingston, he is to be sentenced on April 19.
Court papers also document that while in New York City, DB appeared as a guest on a radio show and publicly thanked the US government, the defendant, and others for their assistance in helping him to obtain a visa to enter the United States.
THE STAR understands that as a show of gratitude, it is reported that DB purchased the defendant shoes, clothing and two Movado brand watches worth approximately $2,500.
The documents also reveal that on or about August 9, 2011, at the defendant’s request, embassy officials expedited a visa for JJG to travel from Jamaica to the United States.
Our news team understands that JJG used his visa to travel to the US to avoid appearing at a court hearing in Jamaica.
RAGGA EXPLANATION ………..
After numerous attempts to control and exploit me to make money, I made it known at all times that I am primarily a broadcaster and that I do not want my image or likeness to be exploited in ways I don’t see fit. I also made it known that I don’t need anyone to “manage” or to channel me in arenas I consider unethical. I also did not want to be so obsessively focused on money that I would be callously exploiting my fellow Jamaicans and other Caribbean nationals. This wasn’t received well by those who told me I could be the “biggest money making machine” for their company. This then led to multiple and unending manipulations for me to change my mind. They were unsuccessful. Then there were several attempts to use my image and likeness to initiate money-making initiatives without my consent through contractual agreements. I killed those. Then it reached a point of disrespectful attacks, I guess aimed at trying to get back at me in a very petty manner. They failed. Then the pettiness increased in a manner aimed at trying to “draw me out” to do something rash so that they could sue me and demolish me. Again they were not successful. It was under this climate that I thought it best to resign.
On receiving my resignation, an all-out effort was made for me to change my mind. I received non-stop pressure for me to stay. I remained firm and made them know I was absolutely leaving.
After they realized I was definitely not changing my mind, I received several unpleasantries from Squeeze – one of which was that my contract did not allow me to work in the New York City area for six months after leaving. I laughed and said I was not aware of that and then pointedly asked him, Squeeze, if he would really take it to that level to deny me the opportunity to work if I was made an offer to do so? SQUEEZE GUARANTEED ME HE WOULD NEVER DO THAT!! I repeat: SQUEEZE SAID HE WOULD NEVER TRY TO NOT LET ME WORK IN NYC IN THE 6 MONTHS AFTER I LEFT LINK UP. We then proceeded to agreeing on the terms of our intended harmonious separation.
It is therefore quite awful that a popular Caribbean newspaper is spectacularly reporting that I will not be able to work in NYC after leaving Link Up – the exact refrain that was brought to me by Squeeze. So is it a coincidence that the very thing Squeeze mentioned to me is reported in the paper?
Aaaaaayyyyy bwoy!!
The editor of the paper was a former employee of Squeeze. And Squeeze also told me he was in contact with the editor regarding my resignation.
And I can guarantee you, knowing how these people do their thing – you’re gonna hear them distancing themselves from the paper, suggesting, or stating, that they had nothing to do with what was published – as if you’re all idiots.
My agreement with them was that we would conduct the separation in a mature and harmonious manner. We were to stick by the line that I was resigning for personal and professional reasons. We were to also ensure that we resisted all attempts from anyone trying to get either of us to be negative about the other BY STICKING ONLY to the same line that I was leaving for personal and professional reasons.
Again, that agreement was obviously breached.
Don’t give any credibility to the chatter that there was no ill will on their part.
My calculations are, that certain elements were pissed about not being able to control me towards their personal objectives, and those elements were apparently even more upset that I had the power to simply resign. I wanted to leave immediately, but could not do so because I was contractually obligated to give a month’s notice. Since then all sorts of games were played in order to get at me. Again they failed. So what just transpired was simply another attempt to draw me out, and perhaps aimed at getting me mad to the point where I would just leave – which would make me in breach of the contract, and give them a platform to sue me. They did not succeed. After I responded to the agreement breach that occurred in the newspaper article, by making the listeners know some of what had been occurring, they ceased broadcasting me – which was strategically silly with regards to their petty objectives – given that the whole world already knows I had already submitted my resignation.
But Raga good same way….and will always be.

NO FORM OF LAW IN JAMAICA….PUBLIC VICTIMIZATION OF WITNESSES? – KARTEL TRIAL WITNESS UNCOOPERATIVE?
Kartel’s bail offer revoked for one murder case
Friday, March 23, 2012
THE $3-million bail offer to entertainer Vybz Kartel last December was Wednesday revoked when his second murder case was transferred to the Home Circuit Court.
As a result of the revocation, the artiste will have to return to court today when a new bail application will be made on his behalf.
Kartel’s two co-accused men — Nigel Thompson and Lenburgh McDonald — whose cases were also transferred from the Gun Court Division of the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court are to return to court on April 13 when bail applications will be made on their behalf.
The three are charged with murder for the death of Barrignton ‘Bossie’ Bryan who was shot as he stood among a group of people in Gregory Park, St Catherine in July last year.
Prior to Kartel’s bail being revoked — which is the standard when a case is transferred to the High Court — there was a verbal spat between the prosecuting attorney and Kartel’s lawyer Chris Tavares-Finson over whether or not the embattled artiste was in fact granted bail.
Crown Counsel Michele Salmon told the court she was not aware of the bail offer as she did not have possession of the case file. Following a 15-minute adjournment Salmon confirmed the bail offer. She, however, argued that even though bail was offered in chambers at the Supreme Court, a fresh application will have to be made as the matter was still before the RM court when the bail was granted.
Following arguments from Tavares-Finson and attorney Michael Deans, Justice Christine McDonald set the bail application for today. But even if the deejay, whose real name is Adidja Palmer, is offered bail he will have to remain behind bars as he is before the courts on several other charges including the murder for the August killing of Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams. Kartel and five other accused men, including entertainer Shawn ‘Shawn Storm’ Campbell are to return to court on April 13 in that matter.
Also on Wednesday, the ganja trial against Kartel, who appeared in court sporting low cut hair, as opposed to his signature hair extensions, was put off for April 13 due to the no-show of witnesses. The controversial artiste has been behind bars since September.

Kartel’s murder trial set for May
Monday, February 11, 2013 | 2:57 PM
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The murder trial of deejay Vybz Kartel for the shooting death of Barrington ‘Bossie’ Bryan is to start on May 27.
Kartel’s trial was scheduled to begin today but prosecutors told the court that the main witness in the case was being uncooperative.
1/1
The case will continue via the Evidence Act resulting in a paper trial.
Kartel, whose real name is Adidja Palmer, is to be tried along with Nigel Thompson and Lenburgh McDonald for the fatal shooting of Bryan.
Bryan was gunned down in his community of Gregory Park, St Catherine by men travelling in a motor car.
The dancehall DJ was on $3 million bail in relation to that charge but has been held in custody as he is facing another charge of murder for the death of Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams.
Williams was reportedly killed in Havendale, St Andrew over a missing gun.
Others to be tried with Kartel for the August 2011 beating death Williams are Calvin Hay, entertainer Shawn ‘Shawn Storm’ Campbell, Andre St John, Kahira Jones and Shane Williams.
