KENNARD CHONG UPDATE

558119_460061954046992_1261980128_n-Optimized

The family of the late Kennard Chong were recently told by an office that advocates for human rights in Jamaica that; they are mindful of the Special Constable’s case and unfortunately, the nature of this case is not in line with their mandate; that involves a state of accountability, transparency and overall good governance , as such they are unable to give it attention. The twenty-four year old, right handed officer was shot on the left side of his neck while visiting his fiancee , Dian Dean.
Inside sources say that , Dean who is a prized sharp shooter of the Jamaica Flying Squad, is allegedly involved with a Senior Superintendent. It is also alleged that when Chong arrived at the home, Ms. Dean had another man present.A commotion ensued outside the home which was allegedly caught on cameras installed by a neighbour but it has been reported that Chong committed suicide.
Ms. Dean , it is said , that because of her role in the force as a prized shooter will allegedly stall investigations that would assist the family in finding out what really happened. The young woman was said to have posted on her Facebook that she was not the one who made the young man kill himself, that the people in charge of him were careless. She spewed obscenities at his family, telling them to suck her rear end and that her body was great. Dean has said to have removed the post.

Helena Krasocka The other side of the coin is how low any woman’s self-esteem would need to be to ~want~ to be with a man who was only pretending, not at love because that can be chaste, but at really, honestly desiring her? Why would any woman choose a ghost of a lover unless she didn’t consider herself worthy? I just don’t understand such desperation.

DEAR MET & METTERS

dear met

Message Body:
I’m a 22 year old University student and I plan to live in the States permanently. I have two beaus who I am interested in and would like to get married to one of them when I am finished with school. One of them is in his early 30’s, quite successful, no kids, ambitious, a gentleman and lives in what we would classify as an ”uptown” area of Brooklyn. The thing about him is that I’m not very fond of him but I’m sure he would be an asset in my life if I were to get married to him. He would motivate me and help me to achieve my goals but he is just too smothering that it would become annoying to me. I also get the feeling that he’s a little ”Pum Pum watch man” and I’m not too enticed about that because I’m a girl who likes to do her own thing, I’m stubborn and don’t want to be nagged. Mr. Mention number 2, ohh how I just love him and can’t get enough of him, he’s 26 , very handsome, ambitious, swe et, driven and goal oriented but the thing about him is that he’s not a 9-5 guy like the older guy , it’s not like he’s a bum he’s somewhat of an “entrepreneur” he buys, sells and trades Vehicles but he’s not as loving and affectionate as the other guy and he is always on the go and I’ll see him like twice during the days but mostly at nights because of his ‘lifestyle.’ I prefer him over the other guy because I can be myself around him and tell him almost anything, because he’s so much of a friend to me. I know he won’t watch me or search my phone because he doesn’t have time for that. Should I choose Status and stability or Love? Met and Metters I need your advice on this one PLEASE DON’T JUDGE ME! Constructive criticism is required thank you.

MAY GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS YOUR SOUL

If Life Gives You Lemons … With Just One Finger, Woman Uses Feet To Cook, Sew, Clean, Wash

Horace Fisher, Gleaner Writer

SMITHVILLE, Clarendon:

THE propular saying ‘if life gives you lemons, make lemonade’ has resonated, strongly with Daphne Williams who was born with a partial right hand and a single finger. Despite the challenges, Williams has learned to use that solitary finger to undertake every imaginable task on her own.

Forty-three-year-old Williams, with the aid of her right foot, cooks, cleans, washes, sews and writes her own letters. She also lights her coal stove, cuts patterns to sew and peels food to cook.

However, the firebrand Christian complained of severe financial hardships, which began long before Jamaica’s current economic crisis.

“This is how I was born and I accept it. God knows best, but Jamaica is too blessed for persons with disabilities to live permanently in hardships for the rest of their lives,” bemoaned Williams, as she demonstrated her amazing dexterity with her single finger and toes to The Gleaner in a recent interview at her Smithville home in Clarendon.

Williams said after leaving primary school, she went back to her alma mater, Smithville Primary, where she set up a stall and sold a variety of items, but her business went bad after she purchased a fridge, a television set and started a one-room house.

“I am disabled; but I am able. I do everything for myself, but if I want a bag juice, somebody has to give it to me, so I want some financial independence so that I can stop being a burden to my sister. I need some help,” she pleaded.

With only a primary-level education and both parents long deceased, Williams said she has had a life fraught with hardship and heartache. But with an unwavering faith in God and a steely determination, she said God has made her for a special purpose, to be his evangelist. She is uncertain of what condition caused her to be born with some of her limbs missing.

“God made this special person to be His servant, to tell Jamaica about the goodness of the Lord, and I want to serve Him full-time and to inspire Jamaica, to let people have faith, but I cannot manage alone. So if there is a good Samaritan out there who wants to assist with my ministry, give me a call at 876-389-2104,” the Smithville Baptist Church member said.

A TRAFFICKING ALONE CAN GWAAN A BAHAMAS ?

A 23-year-old Jamaican woman has been charged with the trafficking of persons for the purpose of prostitution in The Bahamas. Reports say Chevaneese Sashagaye Hall is accused of bringing two other Jamaican women into The Bahamas by fraudulent means between January 10 and 28. She was also charged with unlawfully withholding the women’s passports and transporting the women through the country for the purposes of prostitution in contravention of the Trafficking in Person Act.
The Jamaican was also charged with threatening to kill one of the women. During her appearance in court yesterday, she was not required to enter a plea as her case is set to be transferred to the Supreme Court. Hall was remanded and is scheduled to reappear in court on May 10. Prosecutors have described her as a flight risk as they say she has no status in The Bahamas.

Sophia Bailey was caught with drugs in her kitchen and has been jailed for 40 months
An illegal immigrant became a drug dealer to fund her children’s private education and send £23,000 back to her home country Jamaica, a court heard.
Sophia Bailey, 40, of Gloucester, should not even have been in the UK when she began dealing in crack cocaine and heroin.
When police raided her home they discovered 75 grams of crack cocaine, some of it hidden in a Cadbury’s hot chocolate tin in the kitchen, along with 38.6 grams of heroin.
At Gloucester Crown Court the mother of two pleaded guilty to possessing heroin with intent to supply in January. She also admitted possessing crack cocaine on the same date.
She further pleaded guilty to removing the proceeds of crime, £7,920, from the UK by transferring it to Jamaica between 1 January 2011 and January 10, 2013.
And she admitted possession of £1,500 which she knew represented the proceeds of crime.
On Friday Judge William Hart jailed her for 40 months and he said he ‘fondly hoped’ she would be deported on release.
‘You are a Jamaican national and of previous good character,’ said the judge, ‘Quite why you chose at the age of 38 and with no previous convictions to get involved in this only you can know.
‘I am quite satisfied you approached someone of similar national origin to yourself and you asked to go into business as a ‘sub dealer’ for him.

‘You had in your possession a significant amount of drugs of high purity together with cutting agents.’
Prosecutor Lisa Hennessy said police raided Bailey’s home on January 10 and found the drugs, which had a purity rate of more than 70 per cent and were worth between £6,000 and £8,000.
Electronic scales, clingfilm and latex gloves were among the drug dealer’s equipment also found.

Gloucester Crown Court heard that the had absconded from UKBA control in 2008
Ms Hennessy said: ‘They also found a Jamaican national certificate of deposit and shares in the name of Sophia Bailey, her Jamaican passport and an envelope with “Sophia £1,650” written on it.
‘Over £1,500 in cash was in her handbag.
‘She told the police she had been dealing drugs for the previous two years, having lost her cash in hand job. She said she approached a Jamaican friend asking to deal drugs for him.
‘She said she’d sold the drugs to numerous people. It was clear she had managed to transfer £23,000 in cash to people in Jamaica during the previous 5-6 years.
‘She said she would get up to 3.5 ounces of crack and heroin delivered at a time and the more she sold the more she got paid.
‘It emerged she was an illegal immigrant who had absconded from UK Border Agency control in 2008.’
Judge Hart formally certified that Bailey had benefited by £14,310 from crime and had £1,650 available for confiscation.
Lloyd Jenkins, defending, said her life had ‘fallen into the doldrums’ when she lost her job in December 2010.
She had been in the UK since 2006 and was the carer for her elderly uncle, now 86, he said.
She had turned to drug dealing because she wanted to continue to support her uncle and also her parents, who are in poor health, said Mr Jenkins.
He added: ‘She also two children, now aged 18 and 20, who had very expensive school fees.’
Jailing her, Judge Hart said many people questioned why illegal immigrant offenders were not just immediately deported rather than put the UK to the cost of jailing them.
But he said there had to be prison terms or foreigners would come to the country just to commit crime in the knowledge that the worst that could happen to them would be to be sent home.
