ROBBED TO RICHES 3
Robbed to Riches
Part 3
The days passed, I was very hurt and could not believe that this had happened to me. Billy’s response was a denial and then basically back to business. He told me that he already told me he was no longer married and he was not going to debate. As planned I left his house the next night day I already decided that I would not take the relationship any further. Carl dropped me off and I went in to sadness but I new that no matter what I would have to shake this feeling. It was time for me to go to school and I had to prepare myself mentally and physically. Prior to this I was given a key by Billy, he said he had somewhere available and I could stay there and if I wanted my room mate could as well. He also said that Carl knew where it was and he would take me there when it was time to go back to school. I left the key because of my anger I did not bring it with me when I left his house after the “wife” situation. My aunt was trying to finish the argument she started a few days earlier but I was not interested. My mother did not really care and went about her everyday life and well my grandmother is just naturally quiet and did not say much. I avoided Carl’s phone calls because after all he was Billy’s driver. Billy called me once but I did not answer so he did not call back. Well here I am on the bus again going to school. I thought long and hard and although I was not an aristocrat or born to riches I was not going to be second to no one. That was just not going to happen I did not care who the man was. When I got in to Kingston I had a little money 400,000 dollars to be exact. Accounting was my major and well I did not just go around spending everything I had that wasn’t me. I was getting back on track and concentrating on my studies, I was thinking about Billy but I had to move on. It was almost two weeks since I had been in school and Billy did not call me.
Depression took over my thoughts and I decided that I would go home for the weekend because I was feeling hurt and needed to cheer my self up. My aunt as usual was glad to see me but I was trying to avoid her because of how I felt. I contacted Patrice and decided to visit her. If any one always had another side to a story it would be her. Patrice was looking better than usual and she was in her last month of pregnancy. When I saw Patrice the first thing she said was “Yu look good, it look like yu live a foreign, mi foreign fren”. Patrice was usually very funny I told her a lot about Billy so she could not let it past she couldn’t wait to ask she said to me “Den how yu an di prime minister a gwaan?”I responded with a low voice, “It did not work out.” Patrice had a very surprise look on her face and responded “Speak up! Mi cah hear yu, yu do wah, look mi nuh inna it wid yu look how di man tek yu up and tun yu inna first lady. And now yu wah lef di man, look yah nuh yu betta go patch it up. Plus my baby soon born an a yu one mi have so go forgive an figet.” I couldn’t do anything but laugh. I told Patrice that he had a wife and I was thinking I made a mistake. Patrice said “then how shi gone fi so long, shi gi him weh.” Because of how I felt I just did not even want to hear the word “wife”, I was happy to see that despite her circumstances her spirit was up. I gave Patrice 7,000 dollars and she turned to me and said ” Sue yu a good girl enuh, yu cah gi weh yu self to dem yah wutless man yah, look weh happen to me, furthermore yu nuh fit fi roun yah so.” With that I put my hand around her neck and I left.
My younger sisters were going to high school and I knew that times were hard so I gave my aunt some money and told her not to worry. My major was accounting and I was very good at it so I decided that when I return to Kingston I would get a part-time job. It would be difficult but I decided that I needed to step up and do what I had to. I was getting ready to go back and I was very sad because I was not able to get Billy off my mind. My aunt came to me again and this time I told her exactly what was happening. She listened and said to me that I should not allow anyone to rob me of my riches whatever they were. I thought long and hard did not know what she meant but I still had Billy on mind. With the passing of the weekend it was time for me to go back to school. I promised myself that I would do much better and not let anything get in my way. It was approximately 11:45 am and I was about to leave. My grandmother came to me and told that there was somebody outside to see me, I did not expect anyone. It was Billy. I was shocked, happy and confused. I approached him and he said “Hello Miss Sue!” “You forgot this at my house.” My tongue was tied.

GOODMORNING- JEHOVAH’S WITNESSES, FALSE?
Jehovah’s Witnesses
,
Since you were asking about the 144,000 number with the Jehovah Witnesses, I’d thought I would do an article on who these people are since most of us have had them knocking on our doors preaching their interpretation of the gospel.
There are serious, main differences between their system of beliefs and those of true Christianity. These differences are so extreme, this group has to be considered a cult and false religion.
I will start out by giving you some basic general facts on who they are and what they believe in, and then go ahead and highlight the main differences between their system of beliefs and those of true Christianity.
BASIC FACTS OF JEHOVAH’S WITNESSES
Jehovah’s Witnesses are also known as the “Watchtower Society” or “Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society.” They were officially founded back in 1884 and were initially called the “Zion’s Watchtower and Tract Society.” They did not officially adopt the name of Jehovah’s Witnesses until 1931.
They currently claim a worldwide membership of approximately 9 million people in 205 countries. Approximately 4 million of them live in the United States. They also allege they are averaging 200,000 new members each year. They tell their congregation they are the only true sole Christian religion on the earth today and that only their interpretation of the Bible is correct. They have their own interpretation of the Scriptures, which they call the “New World Translation.” As you will see in the differences I will list below, they are really off in their interpretations.
God the Father will in no way honor or accept this belief system as one of His own due to some key differences between their interpretation of the Bible and what I feel are simply the basics of true Christianity. Here are some of the main differences.
MAIN DIFFERENCES BETWEEN JEHOVAH’S
WITNESSES AND CHRISTIANITY
1. The Trinity
They do not believe in the Trinity. They believe that Jesus Christ is St. Michael the archangel. They think the Holy Spirit is an “impersonal force” and not actually God and Lord Himself.
They believe that Jesus, as St. Michael the archangel, was God’s first created being. However, our Bible says that Jesus was never created – but is “co-eternal” with God the Father. In other words, Jesus has always been just as His Father has always been. Neither one of Them has ever been created. Here is the verse from our Bible that specifically proves this point:
Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.” (John 8:58)
The words “I AM” are telling us that Jesus “always was” and thus was never created. This makes both He and God the Father co-eternal in the Trinity – which means that neither of Them have ever been created, but have always been in existence.
They believe that the Holy Spirit is an “active force of almighty God which moves His servants to do His will.” Our Bible specifically tells us that the Holy Spirit is God and Lord Himself and that He is referred to as “He” in the Bible – which tells us that He is a Person and not some type of “force” that God uses.
2. Jesus Coming in the Flesh
They do not believe that Jesus Christ was God coming in the “flesh” to our earth to save mankind from their sins. This one right here completely disqualifies them from being a pure, true branch of Christianity. Here is the verse from our Bible that nails them on just this one issue alone:
“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God.” (1 John 4:1-4)
Any man, any religion, and any system of belief that does not preach, teach and believe that Jesus Christ is truly the Son of God who came down to our earth in the flesh to physically die on a cross for all of our sins cannot be accepted as anything that is truly coming from God the Father. End of discussion!
3. The Bodily Resurrection of Jesus
They do not believe in the bodily resurrection of Jesus. Our Bible tells us that when they went into the tomb to see if Jesus was still there, that His entire body was no longer there.
They believe that Jesus was “annihilated” by God, not risen. They believe that after 3 days from His death, that He was resurrected as a “spirit creature” rather than being resurrected having a “glorified spiritual body.”
In other words, they are taking out the word “body.” Our Bible tells us that when we die, we will all be given a brand new “spiritual body” to encase our souls and spirits. Here is the verse:
“The body is sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruption. It is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness, it is raised in power. It is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.” (1 Corinthians 15:42-50)
Put all of these key words together in the above verse, and we are all getting “glorified spiritual bodies” when we die and enter into heaven just as Jesus was given when He fully resurrected on the third day from His crucifixion.
4. The 144,000 Witnesses
They believe that only 144,000 people are going to make it into heaven. They actually believe that most of the 144,000 out of their group are already in heaven. The rest of the Jehovah’s Witnesses still living can only hope to inherit the earth, not actually make it into heaven, since this is only reserved for the special 144,000 chosen ones.
However, our Bible tells us in the Book of Revelation that the 144,000 people being talked about are 144,000 Jewish witnesses that God marks and seals during the 7 year Tribulation to help proclaim the gospel during this horrific time. The Bible says that this 144,000 are 12,000 Jews taken from each of the 12 main tribes of Israel. They are called the “firstfruits” of God, as they are the first set of Jews who get officially saved and accept Jesus Christ as their true Messiah.
These 144,000 Jewish witnesses are obviously going into heaven since they are saved, but so does everyone else who accepts Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Here are three key Scripture verses proving that the gift of eternal salvation is for all who will accept it – not just for 144,000 special chosen ones.
“… that WHOEVER believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:15-16)
Notice the word “whoever.” This applies to all who will believe in Jesus and His sacrificial death on the cross!
“… God our Savior, who desires ALL MEN to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” (1 Timothy 2:4)
Notice God the Father is plainly stating that He would like “all men” to accept the gift of eternal salvation that is offered through His Son – not just 144,000 specially chosen people.
For “WHOEVER calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:12)
Again, notice the word “whoever.” God is not making any exceptions either by race, color, creed, or gender. Our Bible also tells us that God is no respecter of persons and each person is looked upon equally by our God, not just 144,000 specially chosen people.
5. Hell
They do not believe in a hell where the unsaved and wicked people will suffer eternal torment. They cannot believe that a loving God could create such a horrible place of eternal punishment. They tell their followers that hell is the “grave” where we are buried in when we die, and that the wicked will simply cease to exist and will not have to suffer any type of eternal punishment and torment.
Our Bible teaches just the opposite. Our Bible says that there will be a Great White Throne Judgment at the end of the 1000 Year Millennium Kingdom. All the unsaved and wicked people will have to appear before the Lord for this final judgment. This verse says that whoever’s name is not written in the Book of Life will be cast into the Lake of Fire and Brimstone where the smoke of their torment will ascend forever and ever.
The Lake of Fire and Brimstone will be the eventual end of Satan, all of his demons, the Antichrist, the False Prophet, and all the rest of unsaved humanity who has ever lived. I believe this passage is literal interpretation! The Bible says exactly what it means and there is simply no other way you can spin or re-interpret these words out of Scripture. The verse on this is found in Revelation 20:7-15.
CONCLUSION
As you can see from all of the above main differences, Jehovah’s Witnesses can in no way qualify as being a pure, true branch of Christianity. I personally believe that God the Father will in no way honor or accept this false religion.
For those of you who are ever led by the Lord to try to witness or debate with some of these people, this article will give you some of the basic differences between their false system of beliefs and those of true Christianity.
THE LOST TAMPON
New Episode of Lost – The Tampon!
Go to The Lost Tampon Video for practical tips, inside information, and real-life demonstrations – as well as a few chuckles.
Women’s Health News has an interesting topic and comments about what women go through when a tampon gets “lost.” So can a tampon head north for spring break? How far? Isn’t there a border check somewhere?
More importantly, what should you do if it happens to you? Assuming you don’t have male-plumbing, here’s the Doc Gurley take on the Lost Tampon situation:
I can promise you, your tampon did not go anywhere. As a physician who has removed more than a few lost tampons, I can say that any doc that makes you feel embarrassed (like using the air freshener while you’re still in the room) or discusses the issue with implications of blame (as in saying something about not seeing “a case in years since they took super absorbency tampons off the market”) needs a big Wet Noodle Slap upside the head. Women who lose a tampon, or can’t figure out what’s happening to them, are feeling plenty awkward enough. In this situation, the official Doc job is to be kind and uber-tactful. Lost tampons are a fortunately rare fact of life. It happens.
How? Vaginas are not all alike, but most have folds and indents. “Losing” a tampon happens when one gets truly forgotten, or when one gets tucked up into a fold (making the tampon sometimes hard-to-reach, even with a light and speculum–hey, they have the string for a reason, folks). You can even have a tampon tucked up sideways behind the curve of a cervix. When a tampon stays there for days or weeks, your body goes to work, doing its best to protect you–it coats the tampon with white blood cells (pus) and starts an heroic (heroine-ic?) effort to breakdown and budge this (from a cell’s perspective) enormous object. The vagina’s soft mucosal wall, that the tampon is flattened against, gets irritated and raw. Germs overgrow. But women tolerate this remarkably well–TSS (toxic shock syndrome) is generally unheard-of in this setting, and once the tampon is removed, healing occurs quickly. The smell also tends to go away rapidly – it’s probably mostly from the decayed blood in the tampon (however, a peanut stuck up a kid’s nose for days also has that same foul smell). A “lost” tampon tends to fall to pieces on removal. A decent doc will use a curved tool to gently scoop out pieces, all the while chatting over the wall of white knee-to-knee paper. Patient self-care afterwards includes: 1) don’t douche–your body will flush whatever it needs to out and douching is not going to help your healing or restore normal bacteria at all; 2) consider helping your vagina’s normal germs re-populate by eating yogurt with live bacteria; and 3) use sanitary napkins for discharge/periods for the next few days. Obviously see your healthcare person right away for continuing discharge, fever or crampy pains. Also make sure the tampon issue doesn’t distract you or your provider from checking you out for other infections/STDs if it’s warranted.

Skin bleaching a growing problem in Jamaica slums

Associated Press
KINGSTON, Jamaica (AP) – Mikeisha Simpson covers her body in greasy white cream and bundles up in a track suit to avoid the fierce sun of her native Jamaica, but she’s not worried about skin cancer.
The 23-year-old resident of a Kingston ghetto hopes to transform her dark complexion to a cafe-au-lait-color common among Jamaica’s elite and favored by many men in her neighborhood. She believes a fairer skin could be her ticket to a better life. So she spends her meager savings on cheap black-market concoctions that promise to lighten her pigment.
Simpson and her friends ultimately shrug off public health campaigns and reggae hits blasting the reckless practice.
“I hear the people that say bleaching is bad, but I’ll still do it. I won’t stop ’cause I like it and I know how to do it safe,” said Simpson, her young daughter bouncing on her hip.
People around the world often try to alter their skin color, using tanning salons or dyes to darken it or other chemicals to lighten it. In the gritty slums of Jamaica, doctors say the skin lightening phenomenon has reached dangerous proportions.
“I know of one woman who started to bleach her baby. She got very annoyed with me when I told her to stop immediately, and she left my office. I often wonder what became of that baby,” said Neil Persadsingh, a leading Jamaican dermatologist.
Most Jamaican bleachers use over-the-counter creams, many of them knockoffs imported from West Africa. Long-term use of one of the ingredients, hydroquinone, has long been linked to a disfiguring condition called ochronosis that causes a splotchy darkening of the skin. Doctors say abuse of bleaching lotions has also left a web of stretch marks across some Jamaicans’ faces.
In Japan, the European Union, and Australia, hydroquinone has been removed from over-the-counter skin products and substituted with other chemicals due to concerns about health risks. In the U.S., over-the-counter creams containing up to 2 percent hydroquinone are recognized as safe and effective by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. A proposed ban by the FDA in 2006 fizzled.
Lightening creams are not effectively regulated in Jamaica, where even roadside vendors sell tubes and plastic bags of powders and ointments from cardboard boxes stacked along sidewalks in market districts.
“Many of the tubes are unlabeled as to their actual ingredients,” said Dr. Richard Desnoes, president of the Dermatology Association of Jamaica.
Hardcore bleachers use illegal ointments smuggled into the Caribbean country that contain toxins like mercury, a metal that blocks production of melanin, which give skin its color, but can also be toxic.
Some impoverished people resort to homemade mixtures of toothpaste or curry powder, which can stain skin with a yellowish tint.
The Jamaican Ministry of Health does not have data on damage caused by skin-bleaching agents, though dermatologists and other health officials say they have been seeing more cases.
Eva Lewis-Fuller, the ministry’s director of health promotion and protection, is redoubling education programs to combat bleaching in this predominantly black island of 2.8 million people, where images of fair-skinned people predominate in commercials for high-end products and in the social pages of newspapers.
“Bleaching has gotten far worse and widespread in recent years,” she said. “(Bleachers) want to be accepted within their circle of society. They want to be attractive to the opposite sex. They want career opportunities. But we are saying there are side effects and risks. It can disfigure your face.”
Health officials are running warnings on local radio stations, putting up posters in schools, holding talks and handing out literature about the dangers. But a similar anti-bleaching campaign in 2007 called “Don’t Kill the Skin” did nothing to slow the craze.
The bleaching trend is sparking a growing public debate. Even dancehall reggae hits celebrate the practice, or condemn it.
The most public proponent of bleaching is singing star Vybz Kartel, whose own complexion has dramatically lightened in recent years. His ‘Look Pon Me’ contains the lines: “Di girl dem love off mi brown cute face, di girl dem love off mi bleach-out face.”
Kartel, whose real name is Adijah Palmer, insists that skin bleaching is simply a personal choice like tattooing.
Christopher A.D. Charles, an assistant professor at Monroe College in New York City who has studied the psychology of bleaching, said many young Jamaicans perceive it “as a modern thing, like Botox, to fashion their own body in a unique way.”
Others, however, say it raises awkward questions about identity and race.
“If we really want to control the spread of the skin-bleaching virus, we first have to admit that there’s an epidemic of color prejudice in our society,” said Carolyn Cooper, a professor of literary and cultural studies at the University of the West Indies, writing in The Jamaica Gleaner newspaper.
Felicia James, a 20-year-old resident of the Matthews Lane slum, said skin bleaching just makes her feel special, like she’s walking around in a spotlight. She was taught to bleach by her older sister and her friends.
“It’s just the fashionable thing to do. After I bleach, I’m cris,” she said, using a Jamaican term for cool. “Plus, a lot of the boys are doing it now, too.”
