MUST SATAN ASK GOD’S PERMISSION TO DO EVIL? – GOODMORNING

A very well known biblical record that needs to be considered at this point is the book of Job. In Chapters One and Two, “Satan” is referred to as one of the angels who presented himself before the Lord. In light of the New Testament, we today realize that “Satan” is one of the names Scripture gives to the Devil, but the Hebrew word for “Satan” (as in the book of Job) simply means “accuser.” Those in the Old Testament thought that “Satan” was only an accusing spirit. They had no concept of him as the mighty spiritual enemy he is.

Misunderstanding, as literal rather than figurative, the “conversations” between God and Satan in the book of Job has caused many people no end of confusion, because it certainly sounds as if the Devil must ask permission from God to do evil, and furthermore, that God sometimes grants him such permission. The New Testament, however, reveals Satan as the “god of this age,” who does not ask God’s permission before doing evil. If he did, the so-called “war” raging between the forces of good and evil would be a sham.

This is why the dialogue between God and Satan must be an allegory, set forth in Scripture as it is because of the limited understanding of the Old Testament believers. [1] The way most people have interpreted the book of Job leaves God looking like a bored puppeteer who gets his kicks by tormenting one of his puppets and killing a lot of innocent bystanders just to win a bet with the Devil. [2] By the way, if the Devil did have to get God’s permission in order to do evil, evil would be easy to stop. God could “Just say No!”

The allegory in the opening two chapters of the book of Job serves to illustrate Job’s unconditional love for God. The book of Job was written to show that Job did not love God only because of what God had done for him. Rather, Job loved God because He is God, and thus is worthy of love no matter what the circumstances were in Job’s life.

The fact that Job did not understand the truth revealed in the New Testament about “Satan” is why he would say, regarding the loss of his wealth and the death of his sons and daughters, “…the Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised” (Job 1:21). It is also why the next verse says that “In all this Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing.” Not knowing about the Devil’s kingdom and devices, Job could only attribute all his hardship to God.

The Devil has a vested interest in keeping everyone as ignorant about his modus operandi as he possibly can. One way he does this is by afflicting both good people and bad people in such a manner that it is impossible to determine whether a person is good or evil simply by what is happening in his life. It is very important to understand this point, if we as Christians are going to be true sources of help and blessings to others who are in need. Suffering, in and of itself, is not a valid barometer of one’s sinfulness nor his godliness, nor is it an indicator of God’s judgment on one’s life (Luke 13:1-5). Often Satan will arrange the circumstances so that a person doing evil suffers no apparent consequences (Ps. 37:7; Job 21). In other cases, he sees to it that one doing the right thing suffers for it (2 Cor. 11:23-28).

THE TESTIMONY OF GLACIA ROBINSON

Testimony

Acquainted with the intensity of life’s trails, I was gravely ill for
the period of five and a half (5 1/2) years. Riddled by the bullets of
isolation; I became a stranger to the face of the sun. The hospitals
in Jamaica WI and USA were a second home for me. Abandoned by my once
successful life of ministry and music, stripped of the gift of my
independence, totally helpless my health rapidly declined and felt as
though I was dead but alive to watch.

Exhausting the medical resources in Jamaica W.I. I moved from one
hospital to another and tried various medicines, I did countless tests
and yet all results were negative. Consequently the doctors were
unable to diagnose my condition. The effects of the mean sickness made
me so weak, unable to walk on my own. I was confined to the assistance
of a wheel chair.

I became as one imprisoned, stitched to the confines of one too many
hospital beds. My body was a heated battle ground; knuckled beneath
the lash of agony’s whip; like a cruel scavenger, the sharp teeth of
pain mauled my existence. It got to the point where I was incontinent
and dependent on disposable diapers (Pampers). Plagued by symptoms
such as, uncontrollable vomiting; ravenous seizures; internal
bleeding; hemorrhaging; fainting spells and countless falls; diarrhea;
sky rocketing fevers; swellings excruciating pain and other
unmentionables. The shadow of death mirrored my every move. I remember
when all my veins collapsed and the doctors persistently probed my
limp body for hours, in search of just one vein, but inevitably they
had to resort to odd ports, to fuel my sustenance.

Insistently grave, my condition took me to some of the lowest moments
I’ve experienced in my entire life. It got to the point where I could
not even digest water. My body weight plummeted to less than 90
pounds. (A size zero was too big for me I was skin and bones). There
were days when I could no longer count from one to ten, my hair fell
out, and my skin broke out in hives. I felt like I was literally out
of my mind, at times even the recollection of my own name was distant.
My doctors told me my organs were functioning at the rate of a
seven-year-old child. My eyes reclined into scrawny sockets, my tongue
draped from my head, my speech hobbled with a drawl. My bones, joints
and muscles sagged beneath the weight and the presence of a pain that
I could not escape. I seemed as one stricken with old age, and I could
not be left alone. All nutrients were given through intravenous
methods. But the constancy of my mother’s care was tantamount to my
recovery, as she was forced to relinquish her job and other daily
duties in order to supervise my care.

Days turned into weeks, weeks into months and months turned into
years… 5 and ½ years. Still, I laid bare in the hands of rescue, as
this illness limited my wisdom to the prejudice of its own council.
Trapped by its cruel dictates, which tried to ravish the potency of my
dreams and silence the rhythm of my existence and the hope that I
breathed. Sufficed by the loan of oxygen, with sleepless nights in the
intensive care units and often guarded by the patrol of heart
monitors, and a loyal net- work of wires, ticking electronic devices,
fierce cables, intravenous lines, a barrage of uncomfortable tests and
a million injections, militant tubes were drilled into my nostrils to
collect the steady stream of bleeding inside of me. But despite the
wide spread rumors of my death and the fact that people even called my
house to ask the time of my funeral. And even though I lost every
thing that I had; and although so called religious leaders said they
were…“Tired of praying and if God’s going to take me He should just
take me”… I knew it was not over for me, because God’s purpose for my
life was not yet complete. And even when my body would shut down and
even though the doctors told me that there was nothing more that they
could do for me. I continued to hold on to the word of God, which
says…

“I SHALL NOT DIE BUT LIVE TO DECLARE THE WORKS OF THE LORD.” Psalm 118:17

There is Life is the Word!
There is Healing in the Word!
There is Hope in the Word!
There is Deliverance in the Word!
THE WORD OF GOD!

I knew God’s plan and purpose for my life was not even partially
complete. And so I BELIEVED that God would raise me up and restore my
body. Within the absence of fear, perseverance and determination
fueled my limp frame and saturated my spirit. I knew I was in a battle
and so I had to fight and remain resolute in my belief. I fought for
the fulfillment of God’s destiny and contended for the fruition of his
promises in my life. Even in my lowest moments I believed in the power
of God and trusted that He was going to come through for me,
irrespective of how dismal it seemed in the physical.

My Deliverance:
So, as the prayers of the saints all over the world went up to the
Lord as a memorial on my behalf. The strong support of my grand
mother- Sarah Harper, my mother-Norah Harper (Pam), my sister- Alicia
South, my big cousin-Myrna Mc Namee & the entire family, my close
friends all ferried me through this desert phase. God in His time
answered and extended His hand to crush the hand of the enemy and
silence the edit pronounced against my existence. The powerful name of
Jesus broke the spirit of witchcraft and the curse of death that was
over my life!

And one faithful Friday night…my mom brought me straight from the
hospital to church; The Temple of Restoration 515 Dean Street Brooklyn
New York. There, God was pleased to use the committed, anointed and
humble Pastors and servants. He heeded the beckon of His name as they
called upon Him, on my behalf; to usher in the complete manifestation
of my healing deliverance. And through a series of fervent deliverance
prayers; resolute faith, sheer determination and perseverance; and in
what seemed to be gazillion manifestation sessions… The savage demons,
which were assigned to kill me; all admitted defeat to the powerful
name of Jesus! Jesus broke the curse of death and witchcraft from over
my life! And today, this assignment is utterly destroyed!

My organs had no choice but to listen to the voice of its creator.
Gods’ voice commanded the normality of function. My bones became
strengthened, my blood became purified, my skin and digestive system
and organs surrendered in agreement to the work on the cross. BY HIS
STRIPES I AM ETERNALLY HEALED!

My entire being is now transformed and renewed. I don’t need the
assistance of a wheelchair anymore. I don’t need heart monitors
anymore; I don’t need feeding tubes; I do not need those pampers or
medications anymore! I can eat and digest anything I desire. I am
jumping and leaping and praising God. All the symptoms and the source
of this illness are eternally rebuked. An undoubtedly, the plan of the
enemy has been destroyed!

My remarkable recovery is a testament of God’s miraculous power.
Indeed we serve a God of second, third and even fourth chances. In His
mercy He has drafted me into the sphere of new beginnings!

Healing is the children’s’ bread!
I know what it is to start over…
GlaciaWithGuitar-Optimized Because it’s not over until God says so! I am a survivor; an over
comer, and by His grace, I’m more than a conqueror! It is from this
place of gratitude to God that I sing today. He has given me a new
Life…He has given me another day and another chance… He has given me
another chance to feast on the breath of freedom…to be in the land of
the living, and to become one with the purpose and destiny he has
ordained for my life! I SHALL NOT DIE BUT LIVE… TO DECLARE THE WORKS
OF THE LORD! HALLELUJAH!

So friends, what ever challenges you are confronting today; please
know that the power of God is infinite. And with Him, NOTHING IS
IMPOSSIBLE! I speak to you as one who has been raised from the dead;
and I know that if He did it for me; He will also do it for you.
Continue to believe and not doubt; have faith in Him; call upon His
name; and He will bring you out!

His has an amazing plan for your lives…surrender to Him completely,
and He will dispel the presence of your cares, your worries, misery
and all your strife. He wants to manifest His promises for you…look to
him today and He will take you through.

US GOVERNMENT SUING LANCE ARMSTRONG

news flash speakerphone

United States Joins Lawsuit Alleging Lance Armstrong and Others Caused the Submission of False Claims to the U.S. Postal Service
The Department of Justice announced today that the government has joined a civil lawsuit alleging that Lance Armstrong, Johan Bruyneel and Tailwind Sports LLC and Tailwind Sports Corporation (Tailwind) submitted or caused the submission of false claims to the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) in connection with its sponsorship of a professional bicycle racing team by regularly employing banned substances and methods to enhance their performance, in violation of the USPS sponsorship agreements.

From 1996 through 2004, the USPS sponsored a professional cycling team owned by Tailwind and its predecessors. Lance Armstrong was the lead rider on the team, and between 1999 and 2004, he won six consecutive Tour de France titles as a member of the USPS-sponsored team. Johan Bruyneel was the directeur sportif, or manager, of the cycling team.

The sponsorship agreements gave the USPS certain promotional rights, including the right to prominent placement of the USPS logo on the cycling team’s uniform. Each of the agreements required the team to follow the rules of cycling’s governing bodies, which prohibited the use of certain performance enhancing substances and methods. Between 2001 and 2004 alone, the Postal Service paid $31 million in sponsorship fees.

The lawsuit joined today by the government alleges that riders on the USPS-sponsored team, including Armstrong, knowingly caused the USPS agreements to be violated by regularly employing banned substances and methods to enhance their performance. The lawsuit further alleges that Bruyneel knew that team members were using performance enhancing substances and facilitated the practice.

The government today notified the court that it is joining this lawsuit against Armstrong, Bruyneel and Tailwind, and will file its formal complaint within 60 days.

“The Postal Service contract with Tailwind required the team to enter cycling races, wear the Postal Service logo, and follow the rules banning performance enhancing substances – rules that Lance Armstrong has now admitted he violated,” said Stuart F. Delery, Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Division of the Department of Justice. “Today’s action demonstrates the Department of Justice’s steadfast commitment to safeguarding federal funds and making sure that contractors live up to their promises.”

“Lance Armstrong and his cycling team took more than $30 million from the U.S. Postal Service based on their contractual promise to play fair and abide by the rules – including the rules against doping,” said Ronald C. Machen Jr., U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia. “The Postal Service has now seen its sponsorship unfairly associated with what has been described as ‘the most sophisticated, professionalized, and successful doping program that sport has ever seen.’ This lawsuit is designed to help the Postal Service recoup the tens of millions of dollars it paid out to the Tailwind cycling team based on years of broken promises. In today’s economic climate, the U.S. Postal Service is simply not in a position to allow Lance Armstrong or any of the other defendants to walk away with the tens of millions of dollars they illegitimately procured.”

“The Postal Service conducts business with many different contractors and subcontractors, with a large majority of them providing a much needed service and fulfilling their contractual duties. It is critical that public confidence in contractor performance remains high. When that public trust is compromised, as occurred in this case, the Office of Inspector General will fully investigate,” said David C. Williams, Inspector General, U.S. Postal Service, and Office of Inspector General.

“The Postal Service strongly supports intervention by the Department of Justice in this matter and a vigorous pursuit of this case,” said Postal Service General Counsel and Executive Vice President Mary Anne Gibbons. “The defendants agreed to play by the rules and not use performance enhancing drugs. We now know that the defendants failed to live up to their agreement, and instead knowingly engaged in a pattern of activity that violated the rules of professional cycling and, therefore, violated the terms of their contracts with the Postal Service. For that reason, the Postal Service fully agrees with the decision by the Department of Justice to seek appropriate damages under the False Claims Act.”

For many years, including during the USPS sponsorships, Armstrong and others repeatedly denied that the team used performance enhancing substances or methods. Yet on Oct. 10, 2012, the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) issued a report concluding that Armstrong used banned performance enhancing substances starting in at least 1998 and continuing throughout his professional career, and that he pressured and helped his teammates to engage in similar conduct. Accordingly, USADA disqualified all of his competitive results since Aug. 1, 1998, including his seven Tour de France victories, and banned him from sport for life pursuant to the World Anti-Doping Code.

In a recently-televised interview with Oprah Winfrey, Armstrong contradicted his earlier denials and admitted that he used banned substances and methods throughout his career, starting in the mid-1990s. In particular, he admitted having engaged in banned practices during each of his seven Tour de France victories, including the six he won as a USPS rider. Armstrong explained that he avoided detection by anti-doping authorities by carefully timing his use of banned drugs so that they would leave his system prior to his undergoing cycling’s required periodic drug testing.

The lawsuit joined by the United States was filed by Floyd Landis, a former rider and teammate of Armstrong on the USPS sponsored team from 2002 through 2004. The lawsuit was filed under the False Claims Act, which imposes liability on those who submit false claims for government funds, and provides for the recovery of three times the government’s damages, plus civil penalties. The False Claims Act contains a qui tam or whistleblower provision, which permits private parties to sue on behalf of the United States for false claims and share in any recovery. The False Claims Act permits the government to investigate the allegations and intervene, or decline to intervene in the whistleblower’s lawsuit. While the government notified the court that it was joining the lawsuit’s allegations as to Armstrong, Bruyneel, and Tailwind, it advised the court that it was not intervening in the case as to several other defendants named in the complaint.

Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General Delery and U.S. Attorney Machen commended the coordinated effort of the Civil Division’s Commercial Litigation Branch, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia, and the USPS Office of Inspector General and Office of General Counsel, in their investigation of this matter.

The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, is captioned United States ex rel. Landis v. Tailwind Sports Corporation, et al. The claims made in the complaint are only allegations and do not constitute a determination of liability. Trial Attorney Robert Chandler of the Department of Justice’s Civil Division and Assistant U.S. Attorneys Darrell Valdez and Mercedeh Momeni of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia are representing the government.

Homeless freeloader files suit against Bedford-Stuyvesant parents to open two Domino’s Pizza franchises
Aspiring record mogul Bernard Bey filed $200,000 lawsuit claiming his parents have been ‘indifferent’ to his ‘problems.’ ‘I feel abandoned,’ he told the Daily News Wednesday outside his homeless shelter. His family wants little to do with the troubled man, and even won’t let him in the home to shower, Bey claims.

Homeless Bernard Bey, 32, says parents should mortgage brownstone to “break the bonds of poverty.”
Mommy, can you spare a dime?

A homeless 32-year-old Brooklyn man wants a judge to force his parents to pay him a hefty allowance.

In papers filed in Brooklyn Supreme Court, aspiring record mogul Bernard Bey says his parents have been “indifferent” to his “problems,” and should pay him $200,000 to make things right.

“I feel abandoned,” Bey told the Daily News Wednesday, outside the downtown Brooklyn homeless shelter where he’s currently staying. “The relationship I share with my parents is not a beneficial one. Not a loving, nurturing one.”

His suit offered up a recipe for his success, suggesting his family mortgage their Bed-Stuy brownstone – his parents have a 1/8 share – and use the money to “purchase two cost effective franchises such as Domino’s Pizza” to help him afford a lifestyle different than the one he’s accustomed to.

His mom, Vickie Anderson, offered an alternative solution.

“I say go get a job,” said the mom, who lives in the Bushwick Houses. “He’s never had a job a day in his life.”

“He’s looking for money so he doesn’t care who he has to step on,” fumed Anderson, 51.

Bernard Bey, 32, is suing his family to have them mortgage their home at 245 Madison St. in Bed-Stuy and open a Domino’s Pizza franchise for him with the proceeds.

“I’ve had a lifetime of him and I’m done. I’m done.”

Bey’s uncle, Benny Manley, who lives in the brownstone, said he was unaware of his nephew’s plan to take out a mortgage on the shabby two story abode – then started ranting about the Book of Revelation.

“The Bible said this day was going to come,” Manley warned.

In his long-winded, self-written lawsuit, Bey laid all of his problems at his family’s feet.

He claimed his parents were physically and emotionally abusive – even failing to attend his trade school graduation.

Their actions over the years “have caused deep rooted wounds that cannot heal on their own,” the suit says.

They “are indifferent to their children’s problems, relationship, poverty, status and station in life.”

When Bey recently asked them for money, they gave him some, but they didn’t seem happy about, he whined.

Bernard Bey’s mom, Vickie Anderson, says the man should ‘go get a job’ instead of asking for money. ‘I’ve had a lifetime of him and I’m done.’

Financial assistance was “provided, although painstakingly,” the suit groused.

Bey, whose rap pseudonym is “Brooklyn Streets,” said his parents drew the line at letting him use their shower, leaving him “feeling filthy and disgusting, cold, hungry, unloved and beaten by the world.”

Asked what he was hoping to accomplish with the suit, Bey – who said he is studying to become an auto mechanic when not hawking $30 t-shirts with his face on them on his Brooklyn Streets website – argued he was showing a path for his family to “break the bonds of poverty” and achieve financial security.

“I feel this is the best way to make things right,” he said.

Family members dismissed Bey as a man with psychological issues and a lengthy rap sheet who tried to sue his folks once before.

“This is someone who’s looking for something for nothing,” said his dad, Bernard Manley.

The family said Bey has five other siblings – none of whom are interested in joining the loony lawsuit.

“It’s frivolous, it’s nonsense,” said Bey’s brother, adding, “I’m a Papa John’s man myself.”

Bey’s website says he spent five years in prison on drug charges, and that his life’s goal is “becoming a record mogul and a force to be reckoned with in the hip hop industry.”
