Cops in shock over colleague’s suspected suicide

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Members of the Island Special Constabulary Force (ISCF) are this morning in shock following the death of one of their own Sunday night.
The policeman, whose name is yet to be released has been identified as a 24-year-old ISCF member who was assigned to Harmon Barracks.

“The full reports surrounding his death are still unclear at this time but the news has left his colleagues in shock,” said Andrew Johnson, chairman of the Special Constabulary Force Association.
Reports are that the policeman is suspected to have committed suicide “through self-inflicted wounds”.

Youth Ministry official shot dead in Spanish Town

KINGSTON, Jamaica – A director in the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Culture was gunned down at his gate in St Catherine yesterday.
Police reports are that Sean Thompson, 45, was at his home in Angels Estate, Spanish Town when he was approached men by in a silver car. The men immediately opened fire.

Thompson, who was the Director of Corporate Services at the ministry, was hit multiple times. He died on the spot.
The police were summoned, the scene processed and the body moved to the morgue.
Investigations are underway.
