GOODMORNING- THE SECOND COMING

Second Coming of Christ – No One Knows When
The Second Coming of Christ is plagued by many false teachings. Prediction books have even been written picking the exact day of Jesus’ return. These books may sell many copies, but they mislead their readers. There’s one guarantee: As soon as someone predicts the day or time of Jesus Christ’s second coming, that prediction is wrong. Why? Simply, only God the Father knows when it will be — Jesus doesn’t even know. Jesus told His disciples:

“No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” “Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding with the hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.” “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.” (Matthew 24:36, 40 & 42)

Second Coming of Christ – Signs for Keeping Watch
We could just shrug our shoulders and casually wait for the Second Coming of Christ. However, Jesus wants us to “keep watch.” A great way to keep watch is to know what the Bible reveals about upcoming events and compare those to what we see happening today. There are nearly 100 biblical passages discussing the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. The key events can be summarized with the acrostic: S – E – C – O – N – D.

S…Sudden. As we saw above, no one but the Father knows when. However, we do know it will take place “as lightning.” Matthew 24:27 says, “For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.”

E…Essential. One of the foundations of the Christian faith is Jesus’ second coming. It is spoken of by Jesus and many others in the Bible. Jesus will physically come again for all His believers and for His final judgment. Unfortunately, some Christian cults teach that Christ “secretly” returned already. As you read what the Bible says about the Second Coming of Jesus, it will be obvious that it hasn’t happened yet.

C…Christ’s Final Judgment. The Bible declares that Jesus will be the final judge of the world (John 5:22, Acts 10:42 and 2Timothy 4:1). Some of the additional verses describing the second coming, resurrection of the dead, millennium, and final judgment are located in Acts 17:31, 1Thessalonians 4:13-5:11 and Hebrews 10:27.

O…Obvious. There are over 6 billion people on the planet. God only knows what percentage are truly Christians, but let’s use a conservative number like 10%. If this is true, over 600,000,000 people will vanish from the earth simultaneously according to Matthew 24:40. There will be no mistaking when Christ comes back for His Church!

N…No One Knows When. In Matthew 24:36, Jesus said only God the Father knows when. God is outside time. God already knows every prediction regarding Jesus’ return that has ever been or will ever be made. Since Jesus said that no one knows about that day but the Father, NO ONE KNOWS!

Second Coming of Christ – The “D” is for “Doubters”
As we get closer and closer to the Second Coming of Christ, there will be increasing and widespread doubt about whether Jesus even existed. People will also start wondering if God really exists and believers will leave the Christian faith (2 Thessalonians 2:1-4, 1 Timothy 4:1-2, and 2 Peter 2:1-3). Do you think we’re already seeing these signs?

Fantan Mojah – file

After talks that his United States work permit was denied, approaching his upcoming tour, and that he is at odds with his Downsound Records ‘boss’, Joe Bogdanovich (after their recent reunion), Fantan Mojah is denying all those rumours which he said has been plaguing his career.

Speaking with the STAR Mojah said, “Rasta nuh inna di passa passa suh wah dem a try put up pon dem website nuh really matter enuh because nutten nuh guh suh. Me as a man cyaan get involved inna family affairs. Joe’s family business cyaan mix up inna business. A music mi come ya fi do suh a dat mi a do!”

troubling

He continued, “People inna di streets a ask mi how mi sign to Downsound Records an dem nah hear nutten from mi but dem mus know that wi a do the work for Downsound and also for other productions out there.”

He went on to address another issue that has been troubling him for some time now.

“Dem a seh mi guh embassy wah day an dem revoke mi visa,” said Mojah.

He added that this was not the case saying, “Mi have a ten-year visiting visa for America. Mi three-year work permit up wah day yah and wi put it in back fi renewal. All a dat in the process wid the lawyers and everything. Mi woulden even think fi fly guh America guh work pon mi visiting visa. Dem gi mi a work permit to work on and mi nah guh be doing nuh shows without it or pon mi visiting visa.”

Mojah said he sees no reason why his visa would have been revoked.

“Mi is a good citizen of Jamaica that do good reggae music. Why America woulda waan deny mi a visa? I’m not a terrorist or anything. I’m abiding by the US law. Dem neva deny mi nuh permit,” he said.

visa revoked

When contacted, Bogdanovich shared similar comments saying, “I don’t know anything about his visa being revoked. From my knowledge it has expired and is being renewed.”

He went on to say that all is well in the Downsound Records camp and he is very pleased with the work that they have been doing, especially the crowd reception of their performances at the recent Excellence in Music and Entertainment Awards (EME).

Fantan Mojah had recent performances at Follow Di Arrow and Spring Break which he said went extremely well and he has been extremely busy organising his Reggae In The Valley stage show set for this Saturday at the Appleton Sports Complex in St Elizabeth.

“The fans a tek to the music so big up all the disc jockeys and everyone who tek part inna mi career. Joe a di man, a him buss mi an mek people know bout mi,” laughed Mojah.

You have disrespected the child who is even more innocent than the mother and don’t forget for one minute you were a little boy before now , how would you feel knowing a man rejected you in this way? After this you can curse and thow up your skirts as usual I will not be responding to you because I have already said what needs to be said here.

FINGER SLAPPED

ALLEGATIONS by a Jamaican woman that she was finger-raped by an immigration officer before being thrown out of Barbados, has brought the spotlight on poor treatment of Jamaicans visiting that eastern Caribbean island.

Shanique Myrie complained bitterly to the Observer yesterday that when she attempted to enter Barbados on March 14, 2011, she was subjected to two demeaning cavity searches by a female immigration officer who continuously spewed venom about Jamaicans. It was her first trip out of the island.

Myrie’s story was corroborated by former Jamaican honorary consul to Barbados, Marlon Gordon.

Gordon, an attorney, said even though some Jamaicans do enter Barbados and get involved in nefarious activities, that was no excuse for wholesale discrimination against Jamaica nationals.

“This arbitrary kind of behaviour that is being exhibited by the Government in Barbados has to be looked at. You can’t penalise an entire nation,” Gordon said.

Jamaican Jaydene Thomas, a former journalist and now a practising attorney in Barbados, said the Jamaican foreign ministry had for too long ignored the cries of Jamaicans who suffered at the hands of Barbadians when they visited that island.

“Every time that a flight arrives from Jamaica, the nothing-to-declare line is automatically closed, she said. “We are treated like criminals by the authorities.”

Myrie, in relating her story to the Observer said: “The lady took me into a bathroom and told me to take off my clothes. I did as requested. After searching me and my clothes she found no contraband or narcotics. She then asked me to bend over, open my legs and spread (my private parts). She said that if I did not comply then she would see that I end up in prison in Barbados.

“When I bent over and spread my (private parts) I felt something enter my (private parts) and when I looked between my legs I saw her gloved hand in my (private parts). I screamed and stood up. She then told me if I obstructed her doing a cavity search she would have me locked up. I bent over again and spread. She again inserted her fingers and poked around. I felt like I was being raped. I was so hurt and ashamed. I felt dirty and defiled,” she said.

“I asked her who she was and she said ‘I am your worst nightmare’. She then said ‘All you (expletive) Jamaicans come here to do is either steal people’s man or bring drugs here,” Myrie recounted.

Myrie said the immigration officer removed her identification tag before humiliating her and that she complied because she was alone with the woman and feared what she would do to her.

She was interrogated and her luggage searched by at least four other immigration officials at intervals and was further cursed by the woman who searched her.

“She said I hate these (expletive) Jamaicans,” she said.

Even though she was originally given clearance to enter the country, she said a male officer took her passport and returned with the entry permit cancelled and left her in a waiting area for more than two hours before carting her off to a small room and informing her that she would be spending the night in the cramped setting.

“It was only a board cot with a small, raw sponge, there was no pillow or bed linen. The room had no windows,” she said.

When she entered the room, Myrie said, another traumatised woman was already in confinement.

“The cot was definitely too small for both of us to lay on at the same time so we took turns laying and sitting while we recounted our ordeal. We did this through the night,” Myrie said.

Myrie said in the morning the door was flung open and three women informed them that their flight was about to leave at any minute and they would have no time to shower so they were only able to wash their faces and brush their teeth before they were carted off to the plane and sent back to Jamaica.

“I did not resist any orders, nor did I refuse to answer any questions. No drugs or contraband was ever found on me or my luggage. Therefore, I must ask if the treatment meted out to me was based solely on the fact that I am a Jamaican?” Myrie said.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade said yesterday that it had received a letter of complaint from Myrie and other Jamaicans and promised that the matter would be dealt with on a government to government level.

“We have received a number of complaints on a regular basis and those matters will be investigated. The matter has been brought up at the Caricom (Caribbean Community) level and we are aware of the situation,” Ann Margaret Lim, the ministry’s head of communications told the Observer.

However, the ministry was not able to provide actual figures of the number of Jamaicans treated unfairly in Barbados
