WTF AFRICA- MAN CATCHES WIFE WITH BOYFRIEND, SETS CLOTHES ON FIRE

A man reportedly got the shock of his life after he caught his wife in bed with another man in their matrimonial bedroom.

Brighton Mashiri (29), has since appeared before the court facing two counts of malicious damage to property and contravening the Domestic Violence Act. Mashiri, however, denied the allegations and was remanded out of custody on US$50 bail to 20 February for his trial.

The prosecutor alleges that on 20 January at around 6am, Mashiri left his house for work since he is employed as a security guard. It is alleged that Sibongile phoned him after discovering that he had taken the wardrobe keys. When he arrived home, he saw a man whom he said was his wife’s lover. Mashiri confronted the man resulting in some fracas taking place.

Sibongile heard the noise but could not ascertain on what was taking place outside before her husband later got into the house. While in the house, Mashiri became violent confronted his wife over the man he saw outside. He allegedly ‘taught’ his wife that cheating does not pay. The ‘lesson’ is said to have been conducted in the form of assaulting her, it is alleged.

However, Sibongile later managed to escape from the house and returned home the following day. Upon her return, she discovered that Mashiri had burnt all her clothes to ashes and took all the property. The woman could not stomach what her eyes saw. She reported the matter to the police, leading to Mashiri’s arrest and subsequent appearance in court.

In his defence, Mashiri alleged that he caught his wife being intimate with her boyfriend.
