A La Habra man arrested in a triple slaying in Harbor Gateway was released from jail without filing of charges, Los Angeles County jail records show.

Narada Barrington Brooks, 28, was released from county jail at 5:50 p.m. Tuesday.

“Our office is seeking further investigation. We did not file charges,” said Jean Guccione, a spokeswoman for the District Attorney’s Office.

Los Angeles police robbery-homicide investigators did not return phone calls and the media relations division had no information on the release.

Brooks was arrested late Friday in the 900 block of North Euclid Street in La Habra on suspicion of murder. Police said he was believed to be the “sole individual responsible. ”

Killed in the shooting were Dwayne Damion Cover, 33, of Harbor Gateway; Laurent Kenroy Latty, 33, of Jonesboro, Ga.; and Courtney George Murray, 44, of Harbor Gateway. A fourth man was wounded.

The shootings occurred about 5:30 a.m. in the 1600 block of West 205th Street. Police have not released any information about the motive for the crime.

Following his arrest Friday night, police and prosecutors had until Tuesday evening to build a case.

Until his release, Brooks had been held without bail.
