AMBER ALERT OMG

nailla-Optimized

Police have issued an Amber Alert for a missing girl who was last seen being taken out of school reportedly by someone pretending to be the child’s mother.

The girl is identified as 5-year-old Nailla Robinson.

Nailla is described as a black 5-year-old girl, 4 feet tall, weighing 35 pounds, with curly hair. She was last seen wearing glasses, a light blue shirt, navy blue pants, and black and hot pink sneakers.

The incident took place at Bryant Elementary School located at 60th Street and Cedar Avenue (6001 Cedar Avenue) Monday morning.

“We’re looking for my child. Somebody came to her school early this morning,” Nailla’s mother Latifah Abdul-Rashid told Action News outside the school Monday evening.

Latifah says she dropped her daughter off at the school at around 8:45 a.m. along with her son.

“She went into school. It shows on the school camera that she came in, she went to her classroom,” Latifah said.

Police and her family say someone wearing Muslim garb entered the school shortly after classes got under way.

“A woman dressed in all black, all black gloves, niqab (a Muslim veil which only shows her eyes), and everything came in the school and went into my child’s classroom and told her teacher that she was me, her mother, and that she was taking her out to breakfast and Nailla was already signed out at the office and she took my child and left,” Latifah said.

Police say the woman knew Nailla Robinson by name and there was a substitute teacher in the classroom.

The person was captured on surveillance video around 8:50 a.m. with Nailla leaving the school.

“I don’t know where she is and if anybody has seen her, please call,” Latifah said.

The family says they were notified of the incident at around 2:00 p.m.

Latifah had a message for the woman who took her child.

“Please bring my child home. I don’t know if it was an accident or whatever it is. Please bring my baby home,” Latifah said.

Nailla remains missing at this hour and family members are at the school with police trying to determine who may have taken the child and where they may be.

It should never be that easy to take a child from school. That is crazy. This the reason why i familiarize myself with the teachers, administrators and personnel in my childs school. In addition, to walking her directly to the classroom or to the exact point where the teacher picks them up and wait. I just pray they find this precious little girl safe and sound. The school has a nice little lawsuit waiting for them smh

UPDATE FOUND SAFE: 5-Year-Old Found Safe Was Blindfolded by Abductor: Victim’s Mom: The missing 5-year-old girl who was snatched from a Cobbs Creek school Monday, was found safe in Delaware County overnight.

The victim was found on a playground on 69th Street by a good samaritan, wearing only a T-shirt, according to Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood.

“This morning around 4:40 [a.m.] a fellow on his way to work heard screams for help, he was walking, he goes over to a playground area and finds a little girl hiding underneath the jungle gym,” Chitwood told NBC10’s Tim Furlong.

    The man immediately called police.

Police tell NBC10 that she told them she was taken from school the day before and that she was cold and scared.

The little girl is at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia for evaluation. Her mom, Latifah Abdur-Rashid, told NBC10’s Claudia Rivero that her daughter is preparing to be examined. She also says her daughter told her that she was blindfolded during her abduction.

Now, police are looking for the person that took her from school Monday morning.

The victim, a kindergartner at the Cullen Byrant Elementary School on 60th and Cedar Avenue, was allegedly snatched from the school around 8:50 a.m. by a woman claiming to be her mother.

The Philadelphia School District released a statement saying that the school didn’t realize the girl was missing until the Abdur-Rashid, came to pick her up.

The young girl’s family told NBC10 that surveillance video shows that a woman who appeared to be pregnant, wearing Muslim garb and going by the name “Tiffany” told school officials that she needed to take her daughter to breakfast. Then “Tiffany” signed the girl out of school and walked away with her, according to the family.

“In the surveillance camera that the school has that I watched, she’s dressed in traditional over-garment and Niqab,” said Abdur-Rashid. “She has her face covered and only her eyes showing. She’s wearing gloves. She’s wearing all black. She has something white on her arm and she has a long black umbrella. The surveillance camera shows them walking through the hallway to get to the door. The next camera picks up and she’s putting her umbrella up. Then they disappear.”

The Fraternal Order of Police are offering a $5,000 reward for today only for the arrest of a suspect.

A $10,000 reward was offered on Monday night by Mayor Michael Nutter for information leading to the victim’s return. No word on whether or not the good samaritan that found her will receive that money.

He is being questioned by the Special Victims Unit.

Philadelphia SVU will hold a press conference at 10 a.m. to discuss the case. We’ll bring it to you live on NBC10 and right here on NBC10.com.

Anyone with information on the incident is urged to call police.

  • fashiondoll says:

Phew!!! Thank God she is found

  • Anonymous says:

Thank God she was found alive and well. But I can’t help but wonder if this was a plot to collect the reward money? Coincident they kidnapped her, blind folded her and leave her in a park less than 24 hours later, why? hmmmnnn…

  • MURASAKI says:

So the little girl didnt put up a resistance to the woman? Did she know her. The thing in the US, is that everyone is so PC about religions that they dare not tell a muslim to remove a part of their head covering so that they can be identified…everybody trying to be polite…too polite

  • miss-$tullesha says:

Kmft dem would offi remove that shit this ain’t Iraq .
Cover the hair but Bitch I’m going to need to see your face

  • Jafaican says:

Thank God! Hopefully she is OK.
