Patrick ‘P’Money’ Lewis, the young man who made the news last week because of his surprising but not shocking charges which included first degree murder and conspiracy to rob. Leaving questions in the minds of many who wondered how it all started.
A look into Lewis’ background brings a string of emotions including sadness and anger as his behavior thwarted cries for help and at the same time made many feel that he was beyond help. Sadness because, Lewis father had died beside him at the tender age of nine. His father we are told, was second in command to an area leader who came from the south side of Kingston in Jamaica. Lewis was plagued by this and spoke often of meeting a similar fate.
After travelling to America, Lewis and his family, headed by his mother were said to have had it difficult and his mother had to do questionable things in order to survive. These means included men, homosexual recruits, young men and women were also lured and encouraged to do lawless things. Sources close to the family, disclose that back then ‘’Little P’’ complained of the intrusion and had to be outside the home while ‘’things ‘’went on.
In his early teens, Little P as he know as then, changed his name to PMoney and formed a gang with some of the teens that were already in his home , the gang was called ‘’Four Tray’’. The color purple was used to signify the gang’s power. Each member of the gang had a designated area of expertise in lawlessness which included carjacking and various forms of robbery.
Four Tray eventually became Throwzay when many other young men joined the gang, some of whom declared themselves aspiring Rap artists. Misled and gullible young women flocked to them a few granted a place to sleep by Lewis’ mom in exchange for accompanying her on suspicious mall trips.
In late 2011, Lewis posted himself fully dressed in polka dotted female lingerie bringing his sexuality into question. A brief glance into his background exposed his somewhat strange childhood brought to light that, Lewis’ mother was said to have not brought home homosexual men, but gave them shelter, ”Little P” complained about his mom fitting many stocking cap wigs on his head.Making her personal wigs while he sat.
Patrick Woodbourne , young man who was killed on December 26,2010 was an associate of Lewis and when approached by mutual associates was said to have responded to them via Facebook saying ‘’Some have to die in order for others to eat, if you want money for his funeral I can give you’’. Lewis was said to have also befriended one of the victim’s close relative on Facebook. This behavior angered many who feared approaching him.
It is said that Lewis targeted drug dealers, one of whom threatened to shoot him, bringing one of his girlfriend’s party to a halt. Lewis was said to have entered the young man’s apartment via a window that contained an air conditioner. Many personal items were removed by Lewis and his friends. Lewis’ theft did not stop there. The items which included an expensive pair of sneakers and belt were worn by Lewis in a video he made.
Lewis appeared fearless but vulnerable who undoubtedly became a victim of his inner demons

Woooow! So sad!now we know why he treated that girl so badly and why she stuck by him. She was trying to save him and he had serious mommy issues. I always believe that things go wrong when mothers fail to give their kids healthy love . I don’t think loving includes dressing ur child in brand names ( Paris comes to mind ) but just showing unconditional love and being not only a shield but a sword from all things negative.

  • Tawkchuet says:

This young man is a product of his home smh no parent figure to show the value of wrong n right. No morals n being the weak individual that he is he chose the wrong path n if u do the crime u must do the time so my prayer for u Patrick is that u find peace wisdom strength and God’s forgiveness will u pay for the wrongs u have done

  • Cindy Royal says:

There are/were/will be many other children who have gone thru or will have to go thru similar & sometimes more serious situations than what he went thru & they will never turn to crime or, at least, make it a lifetime career.

  • Ms.B says:

It explains a lot ! It explains why he treated that girl so bad and y he doesn’t respect women AND y the girl stuck by him , she probably know wt his issues are regarding his mother and was trying to save him etc.
I may be wrong but I think things go wrong when mother fail to give their kids unconditional love. That doesn’t include brand name clothes . Mothers should be a shield and a sword there to protect and defend their kids from the evils of society (or person playing the role of a guardian) .
I am yet to see anyone faced with similar situation who doesn’t turn to crime unless there is some intervening situation ( school, sports , church , mentor )

  • sllimz says:

WoW!!! Suh a wonda wha Nichola duh to her daughters…smh…look like Kizzy have sense enough fu mek John distance himself. Even tho he old enough and had plenty a time to change for his kids me still blame Nichola cause she plant de seed. Not everyone strong enough to take the righteous part.

what I dont get is why after the father died why things neva change?

  • Cindy Royal says:

    Morning Met.

Things didn’t change bcuz like the father, the mother was criminal minded, & unfortunately criminals head tuff & dem nuh learn di easy way (from the experience of others). kmt

  • Met says:

  • Met says:

exactly but what I would like to know is if they do not see their actions as wrong…because when u do something that is wrong your conscience comes into play suh mi a wonder if some a dem nuh have none

  • Tawkchuet says:

Met it seems they got worse this solidifies the argument that not all women should b allowed to raise kids I can only imagine Wat his home life was like smh it sad bad

  • Tawkchuet says:

  • Met says:

morning chuet :peluk and may you be blessed too

  • Cindy Royal says:

No enuh Met, many criminals really doe have any conscience or remorse bout dem actions. Mi hear so-called professionals siddung an chat shit bout how dem feel bad afta, but Met, mi talk it here b4, thru a relative of mine, I’ve had the opportunity to siddung an talk wid real live killers who had no remorse about killing or anything else they’ve done. Dem si everyting weh dem duh as justified an only find conscience wen a hefty prison time bite inna dem skin. kmt

  • Met says:

cindy it sad den..because everything is kept in their mind….u know why mi seh dat, because at some point they must see others doing good but dem block out all that mentally and jus do dem ting…people like that have to and must be put away

  • Tawkchuet says:

    :peluk thank u

  • MURASAKI says:

When I read his story I think many criminals in jamaica have a similar path. A traumatic event and noone counselled or listened to them. there is just no love anywhere..not at home , not at school.

  • Met says:

murasaki a dem same mothers yah will seh dem love and den call out police brutality…but at some point we cant lay all the blame at his mother’s feet

  • Cindy Royal says:

    Fi real Met!

  • Tawkchuet says:

No all the blame should not go on his mother but like 90% of it should if ur child grow up seeing u a thief n kill unless that child is influenced by someone quite earlier is the same thing they will grow up to do. Just like I said to my Mother the other day because from as far as I can remember she was always a late person was always rushing to get me to school n where ever u best believe I am now plagued with being a late person as children ambition, moral values and social behaviors are learnt so we live Wat we learn. And that right there is the case with this little boy

  • front row seat says:

I don’t know this young man but mi feel sorry fi all that he endured and was exposed to. Parents must remember that their child live what they learn and if not correction is given when things are wrong the end result is a case like this.

  • LMAO says:

Morning Metters, I am sorry but sadness is not an emotion that is invoked in me in regards to this young man. I know people who were in worst situations then this young man and made it their business to do better with their lives. Unfortunately that gangsta or hood celeb lifestyle is praised and celebrated in the culture. Where “Promoters” are really drug dealers and or thieves or both. Where vicious murderers like Dudas is crowned a King. Like I said last week “when keeping it real goes wrong” smh in the end all the flossing and showing out is not worth it. Things we do in the dark have a tendency to come to light. I hope this young man (so young too smh) is an example to others that celebrate that behavior. It sicks my stomach the way some of them go on with the flossing etc it’s downright disgusting. Look at how they fling money into the audience to make you poor folks worship them and their “lifestyle” Better wakeup people It’s time to stop being Gangsta’s and start being Graduates.

the things i grew up seeing around me, i should have been something like a whore or prostitute or a careless gal in every pon knock, you caan mek you environment stop yu in these time, what age did he came here, the mother cant get all the blame still, him have to carry some of the burden himself, i feel it for his kids but maybe they will learn from his mistakes unlike him not learning from his father’s

  • Lipstick says:

i know what it feels like to be the child of a young carefree mother, esp if dem materialistic an willing to choose man over their kids, a dem one deh a di worse, willing to give you up to anybody who is willing to take you out of their sight, less stress for them more money for them to buy clothes an shoes to party, i don’t member getting a birthday gift as a child from my mother, but i refuse to let those things rule my destiny, i think i’m a star an survivor, i see anyone who treats me bad as a loser, it’s their loss not mine, teenagers have sense but don’t underestimate the mind of a young child, they have sense too

    Proverbs 1
    King James Version (KJV)
    1 The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel;

    2 To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;

    3 To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;

4 To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.

5 A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:

6 To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.

7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

8 My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:

9 For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.

10 My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.

11 If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause:

12 Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit:

13 We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil:

14 Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse:

15 My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path:

16 For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.

17 Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird.

18 And they lay wait for their own blood; they lurk privily for their own lives.

19 So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; which taketh away the life of the owners thereof.

20 Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets:

21 She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying,

22 How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?

23 Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.

    24 Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;

25 But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:

    26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;

27 When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.

28 Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:

29 For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the Lord:

30 They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.

31 Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.

32 For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.

33 But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

  • Cindy Royal says:

But seriously, how long, after becoming a grown man/woman, yuh gonna continue living ur life based on ur parents or continue blaming ur parents for how u live ur life??? As soon as yuh reach adulthood, sometimes even b4, yuh have a good understanding of right & wrong. More importantly, as soon as u reach adulthood u r free to do things much differently than ur parents did or than any1 predicted u will.

This is called “diminished responsibility” meaning the individual reach a mental stage of not caring about anything anymore and will do anything they want when they want a dont give a damn!!! As a young person facing certain pressures of life with no stable family around and cant afford certain things seems like there is no hope, then “f000 it” (sorry) gonna do what i please make some money rob and steal buy some nice clothes shoes, eat what I want and enjoy the proceeds! Anytime get caught “dont give a f000 anyway” thats life thats the hand what has been dealt!!!
Of course there is another way out but who can show them that way??????? And will they be willing????

  • Foxy Lady says:

Sad on all levels. Some people were just not meant to be parents. We talk about being ‘products of our environment’ but she escaped the Jamaican garrison and was given a chance to come to the land of opportunity but the criminal mentality was too strong for her to do what so many honorable and decent Jamaicans do, become CNA’s, work their way up and out.
People tend to take the path of least resistance and yes, he had an alternative and many people that shared similar stories, opted for the better and harder route. However, the seed was sewn and when that is all you see and all you know and consumes your every waking moment, statistics prove this would have been his outcome.

Expecting someone like him to respect women when the first woman he’s exposed to in his life is about nothing, is essentially a tall order. There are some things that must be genetic and it takes an extremely strong person to rise above, decide he is more and better and take the narrow path.

With that said, while I sympathize with his childhood plight, I cannot feel sympathy at this point when he crossed the line by ending someone’s life so callously with no remorse and actually taunt the family members. When someone just cannot be saved, it’s up to us to save other innocent people’s lives by locking them away from the rest of civilized society. And too many Jamaicans think it’s cool and okay to be shoplifting in the stores, buying and wearing stolen goods and even bragging of it “Hustlers and Clutchers”.

At the end of the day, the underworld/underclass will do what they do for they know no different.

  • Belly Bang says:

This is one case mi naw guh inna deep rooted guesswork bout him. Mi ah tek him as mi see him. If him have him issues & him commit di crime, him just have to serve the time.

IF him not Guilty or if him Guilty but God ah guh mek ah way fi him, so be it.

  • Foxy Lady says:

Met, if yuh site dash wey one more a mi comment dem, me and you a guh fight.

I give him no sympathy. When you cross that line and take a man’s life, you make your bed with the devil.
His parents epitomize why some people should be born sterile.
Everybody bad wid a gun and a gang – in prison his ass won’t be so fearless.
Many Jamaicans from the garrisons come here and become CNA’s and work their way up, doing 2/3 jobs – so his mother was just one of those that made up her mind that criminality was for her.

  • Met says:

Him really was dealt a bad hand fram before him even bawn. It’s really sad, but the time away will give him the opportunity to ruminate over him life. Dem a offer education and trade inna prison him can use di time to betta himself. Whole heap a counselling and spiritual aid in deh. Maybe di sed prison will be di best opportunity fi him find healing in dis worl.

Failure in life is no shame, not every start going to hab a joyful finish, but failure as a parent is the greatest failure of all.

Although he probably grew up in a really messed up situation it does not excuse him going as far as to take someone else’s life. Like a lot of metters said before me he is old enough to know right from wrong even if it was not taught to him from his mother. He had to have been scolded a few times throughout his life from at least one person. He attended school up here, and im sure him probably used to gwan bad inna school and get punished for it. And him well know seh if u get caught stealing, assaulting, or killing u will be sent to prison. He has no excuse. We all have a conscience, its just a lot of ppl choose to ignore it.

A wild animal is born without concience. it is what it is. A human can be conditioned to be as a wild animal. Its sad that this kid may never get a second chance, although he probably could have been helped. However, in prison he will get the help he needs mentally. I am sure he will get mental help in the prison. All we can do is pray that he will not get a life sentence, where he can changed his ways and one day be sorry for what he did. Yes he was a part of a group that killed a man. The circumstances surrounding his case are just so sad. Here is a kid who fell through every loopholes you could thik of. He deserve frogiveness! He should do some time and get the necessary help he needs, but not a life sentence.

He’s old enough to know right from wrong, instead of using that as an excuse in why he’s the way he is, it should make him want to be something in life and use his life story to help others.. I dnt feel sorry for him and the time he’s facing, I feel sorry for his children who may just end up like him because he’s to coward to say he made a mistake… You made your bed now u must lay in it.. Jail may be the only think that will keep him from being killed on the streets, so hope he does alot of thinking and cleans himself up.
