  • addicted says:

    Blessed Sunday morning to all.
I really do believe that Bounty should just go straight patois when speaking as it is a bit embarrassing when he tries to use the queens english along with the patois.
Words such as damagement control ( i have never heard of before)

  • Real says:

“He ever look who is bounty killa?” >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>SHOTTTT …mi cah manage ……di killa seh he was having some RUM PUNCH AT RUM PUNCH NOOOOOSAH :ngakak

  • milikeit says:

Bounty, really brought 100% energy to di stage fi real,

  • Real says:

well probably he is trying to speak so others can understand it ,,,and I think he is trying really hard to be eloquent

  • milikeit says:

    look up the word damagement

  • milikeit says:

They way killa speaks makes him original, nobody talks like him. He’s unique and FUNNY. I’m still laughing.

  • addicted says:

Milikeit you look it for me and when you FIND IT, Please my dear tell me the meaning and the context it is used in.
I am not arguing with anyone about my opinion.I said it and i will repeat if these Jamaican artist are intelligent enough to use the English language in the proper form, they should just stick to the patois as we do understand patois and its less confusing and embarrassing to say the least.
( Contrary to what the popular belief is that the people who blogs on this web page has no job , no life no intelligence etc) There are a lot of us who speaks standard English and it irks when public speakers try to speak proper and uses the incorrect pronunciation , wrong context etc

  • addicted says:

Correction*You look it up for me @ Miliekit*

  • Mama says:

Yow i Swear bounty killa a the best!!!!!!!!!!! Him interview dem eva have mi a laugh :2thumbup

  • ja says:

Killa always keep it 100% real

  • Real says:

mama a mi fi tell yu …..My father and many other men I know were self taught. Due to the fact that the educated people in Jamaica left very little for the poor. They had to create their own work. I am proud of people like Rodney Price who aspire to be so much while having so little. All of us have made errors grammatically. …………………………….”There are a lot of us who speaks standard English and it irks when public speakers try to speak proper and uses the incorrect pronunciation , wrong context etc” I am sure that you did not mean to do this, however it happened.

  • Real says:

    damagement 2 up, 2 down
Management who is clueless and breezes in, sprinkles their leadership onto the poor worker who are stuck trying to implement foolish or damaging ideas. Also management who lays off whole groups of workers, running the business into the ground, ala Circuit City.
Our programming department replied with a resounding “NO” when some clueless member of `damagement` tried to put a print button on the on-line manual…..

  • Tawkchuet says:

Helloooo we all know this is Killa mode n Wat makes him Kill so the great analysis of language is really moot. We know Wat he’s means its a part of his persona n his energy is great. If u listen u can get the gist of his reasoning some a we love gwaan like say it hard to understand we culture too much, bout Wat is damagement that is Wat nyammy lee management lead him into kmt

  • milikeit says:

Words are given meaning by people, throughout history words are created an added to the local dialect first before they become popular and added to the “prominent dictionaries.” Words such as edutainment was first used in 1973 and is a connection between education and entertainment were not a part of the Queens english. Most people in the western hemisphere do not speak the Queens english, most english speaking people speak a mixed dialect of english. There are words that originate in a particular region and become popular world wide. Jewish dialect, Brooklyn dialect, Hispanic dialect and yes Jamaican dialect. By the way, Rodney is not the first person to use the word damagement, it’s popular amongst the urban population and I’m sure will be added to Meriam soon. The same thing they said about ebonics. BOTTOM LINE, I DON’T WANT TO HEAR KILLA SPEAK THE QUEENS ENGLISH BECAUSE HE WOULDN’T BE THE GENERAL, I ARE IS HOP I EXPLAINED DIS TO YOU, NOW LEVEL!!!! FEISTY

  • addicted says:

((((((((((((Clapping)))))))))))))))))))) Hip HIp Horayyyyyyyyyyyyyy for freedom of speech and the ability to have one’s own opinion.
I see where some of you would like to brow beat others to think along the lines that you are thinking on but as they say to each his own.
I personally do not like to hear the “put on talk ” so who disagrees with my opiniont””shrug” to hell with it. I will never join the back and forth bantering .

  • addicted says:

No results in your search for “damagement.” Try refining your search in the form above to get more results

  • addicted says:

The only place you will find the word “damagement ” is the online URBAN dictionary.

  • Real says:

everybody want to say that they are eloquent and they are from uptown…wen di most wealthiest Jamaicans regardless of being black or chinese are from rural jamaica…..everyboyd wah associate wid dis high level…thats y Busy free and Kartel still deh a prison…because colour and the tongue of manipulation fool some a wi

  • milikeit says:

btw, let me show you how when we nit pick, we can pick apart anything. For example you wrote:

( Contrary to what the popular belief is that the people who blogs on this web page has no job , no life no intelligence etc) There are a lot of us who speaks standard English and it irks when public speakers try to speak proper and uses the incorrect pronunciation , wrong context etc.

picking a part what you wrote.

it would be have no job, not has no job. it should be a comma between no life, no intelligence and etc. And you are missing a full stop (period) after this no intelligence etc) .
And this sentence, you wrote: “There are a lot of us who speaks standard English and it irks when public speakers try to speak proper and uses the incorrect pronunciation , wrong context etc.”

This is how it should read: They’re a lot of us who SPEAK standard English and it irks me when public speakers try to speak standard English and USE THE incorrect pronunciation.

My bottom line to you is learn to let people be sometime and don’t box them into one thing, bout di Queens english. This is what sets Killa apart from what people are trained to follow. Stepping outside the box and being your own individual and not apologize for not conforming is a good look. “Yuh have to learn to live wid Rodney, a jus Rodney dat, yuh zeit LMAO KABOOM

Bounty, Bounty, Bounty, Bounty; I are the are the ***** general a wah do dem…………………..

  • @addicted: When Killa used ‘damagement’ he was using his poetic licenses–he is well aware of the fact that there is no such word… Give the man a break. To be honest, Killa–especially in his early career–exposed me to a lot of words that were unbeknownst to be prior… I am no linguist and do not pretend that I am a student of pedagogy; when Killa used words like ‘inoculate’ (in the correct context) 20 years ago, I was impress and ran to my pre-computer dictionary…

  • Bounty is really in his element right about now and any DJ weh get too close a go get crush. Mi glad seh Killa clearly acknowledge Ninja and his legacy. However, even though Killa a my DJ, he should concede that Shabba have da illest voice ever–if anything, Killa emulated him at times…

Mi glad seh him clearly outline the dichotome between him and Mavado and I think this is the first time that he pretty much conceded that Merciless kill him a Sting–something that I don’t agree with…

  • Correction: dichotomy and not dichotome…

  • DFDR says:

This is a endship! Mistake no is a fishtake!!! Lol)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
    I r d one General!!!

  • Libra says:

I have to respect Bounty because he is a man that stand for something. All money is not good money. I remember sitting back and watching the whole Tommy Lee thing play out. All Bounty did was speak out against demon and devil and that it was not a diss toward Tommy but rather speaking about the current situation in Jamaica. The problem I think is that these artists do not have the right people around them to give them the proper advice. They do not view this entertainment thing as a serious job and do not conduct themselves professionally. Yeah controversy sells but after awhile people get tired of the antics and just want good music.

  • Real talk, Bounty Killer—my DJ for life—would not or should not be mistaken for an oratory giant—in that, we are well aware of his limitations when it comes to framing his sentences.

Such is not unique to Bounty Killer or Jamaican entertainers for that matter and being well spoken don’t make you smart or intelligent—necessarily that is.

There are those who have a way with words, very coy and if you were to truly listen to such individuals, you will find that they are demoralized empty vessels…

Here is where Bounty stands apart: sink or sail, he will always stand for his conviction—the honest truth is that he hasn’t sailed as much as his talent allows.

Bounty Killa is like a very talented athlete who is not receptive to coaching. Like a Mike Tyson or an Allen Iverson—with their respective talents, imagine where they would be if they were receptive to the correct tutelage?

Judge the man for his character or lack of character and not his many oratory fibs. It should not be a requisite that I bring Kartel into this conversation; however, I often hear how intelligent or smart Kartel is… I beg to differ, Kartel has more exposure to formal education and he does speak, I hear nothing but a coy and boundary-less libertine…

I can attest to the fact that among the visitors are PhDs, aspiring PhDs and engineers, et al. There is so much to gain from frequenting these pages…

  • Riches says:

Killer’s diction has changed over the years and why the debate over his speech? quite frankly, if he was an eloquent “Rodney” his persona would not suit him. i was able to understand everything he said! some of us too bright and over-educated and want to start the diction argument wen we can’t even write sentences properly! Best rass intaview fi 2012, Met plz add “Damagement” “Fishtake” and “endship” to JMG dictionary lol
